As a human and an artist, I have always had an attraction for materials that convey their own experience and vibration.

One day a nice old lady who had discovered me at an exhibition, saw that I was painting on burlap. Later she contacted me again, telling me that she had discovered old hemp canvas that her father had made decades ago.

These hemp fabrics were the last produced by hand in my region, Normandy, France. They date from the 1940s. Moved, she decided to give me this large, heavy roll that smelled of the past.

I promised to make it something colorful and full of life.

Here are the first works made with it.
