What If Lord Of The Rings Was All Dogs? This Twitter Thread Has An Answer (18 Pics)
Have you ever thought about what Lord of the Rings would look like if every single actor suddenly grew fluffy ears and a tail and were way more interested in playing fetch than bringing the Ring to Mordor? Well, this Twitter account sure has. The user known as Lady K picked out dogs that look the most like the characters from one of the most popular fantasy movies ever. Lady K shared how she came up with this idea: "I think someone said an Afghan hound looked like Saruman, and it prompted the rest." There are 18 epic characters and 18 adorable fluffers that look just like them.
What do you think of these mashups? Do you agree or would you pick some other breeds for these characters? Tell us in the comments and don't forget to upvote your favorite duo!

Here are some facts on LOTR for you. The Lord of the Rings was written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published on July 29th, 1954. It was a sequel to the Hobbit, which was published in 1937. Since then, the books have been regarded as one of the greatest works of fiction, with fantasy lovers all over the world knowing LOTR.
Saruman
Gandalf The Gray
The first movie was released in 2001, with the other two following the next two years. The movies were an absolute hit and started a new era for fantasy. The Hobbit movies were released in 2012, 2013, and 2014 and were also well-received, with both of the franchises racking up around $3 billion in the box offices.
Gollum
Aragorn
Lady K is obviously a fan of LOTR and has come up with the original idea to give the characters doggy counterparts. If you scroll through Lady K's social media, you can see that she is very passionate about today's issues, like inequality and Black Lives Matter. On her Twitter, she writes a little more about herself: "Feminist. Artist. Writer. Agnostic. Mother of neurodivergent daughters. Owner of Small Dog & Boy Dog. Here to rage against the dying of the light."
Galadriel
Boromir
No, don’t kill the dog! Sean Bean does not simply survive a movie.

Merry And Pippin
Gimli
Faramir
A chance for Faramir, the Captain of Dogdor, to show his quality!
Éowyn And Faramir
Elfs
Legolas
Éomer
Arwen
Éowyn
I have to disagree too. Eowyn is too much of a badass to be depicted as a cute/sad-eyed puppy.
Yeah she is too awesome for a tiny lapdog. Maybe a light coloured German shepherd or something badass.
Load More Replies...definitely the type of dog who would cut off the head of a nazgul before killing a ring wraith...sarcasm
A Nazgul is a ringwraith. The creature that it rode on was simply called a fell beast.
Load More Replies...Maybe a rough Collie, like Lassie. Beautiful and elegant, but a tough, smart working breed
That hair, yet the beauty? Cocker Spaniel. Golden Cocker Spaniel. Not a King Charles Cavalier.
Elrond
Frodo Baggins
Dear all, maybe unrelated to the article, but I sincerely want to thank you for being the best community! I'm so glad to have discovered BP and have learned much from you all. I wish you the best New Year and a very happy and wonderful 2021!!!! 💋🎄🌈💐🖖
Okay if you're just trying to match the looks of the movie actors. It would be harder, and more interesting, to match breed characteristics with the characters ,
OMG I LOVE IT. the Aragorn one is my fave. Aragorn is one of my fave characters and he is amazing
Too many are going on the actor's appearance and not on the character's personality.
I reiterate an above comment sentiment first made by someone else... SOoooooo IS THERE A LOTR: With DOGS - movie out there? Or being made? I mean... "Wow... if they made clips of famous scenes from LOTR... but with their dog counterparts... what a GREAT way to advertise for animal shelters... or PSAs about animal welfare....."
Pippin and Merry: [emerges from behind the pillars to join them] "Wait! We are coming too!" Merry: "You'd have to send us home tied up in a sack to stop us!" Pippin: "Anyway you need people of intelligence on this sort of mission, quest… thing." Merry: "Well that rules you out Pip."
My grandmother gifted my mom a black pug when I was 12, just a day before my very first surgery and three days before Christmas. Mom named him Frodo. That black pug was my little brother. He passed in 2018 and I still miss him dearly.
while i disagree with a few well done! this was a question i did'nt know i needed answered, also do the hobbit next i want to see Fili and Kili
The dog that was supposed to be Legolas was more fitting for Thranduil, or even Haldir
