The Kids Are Not Alright

ADVERTISEMENT

“The Kids Are Not Alright” colored pencil on paper, 2020.

From the artist’s Instagram:

@JosephGrazi

“🇺🇸🏴‍☠️ Americans citizens are like the children of two terrible parents that are desperate for a divorce but stay together anyway for the sake of the kids. So instead of having one nice week with mommy, and one nice week with daddy, we stay with them together at the same time, in an increasingly toxic household. All we hear is hate, accusations, and rage. Rage against the other parent. Rage against the other political party. Rage against differing opinions. Rage against the “other”. How could we possibly know how to love each other if our parents have taught us nothing but hate. America needs a good marriage counselor before this “cold” civil war becomes a real one.”

    The artist seems to be suggesting that causes that advocate for groups of people who are discriminated against are just as bad and evil as harmful/hate groups like white supremacists/confederate flag worshipers, Trump supporters, and the NRA. That's kind of a bizarre view.

    Not exactly. For example, Black Lives Matter is openly Marxist and seeking to destroy the family unit in American society. (Although that's a difficult one to discuss, as everyone agrees with the phrase "black lives matter" but not everyone agrees with the organisation Black Lives Matter.) The push of the LGBT movement and transgenderism is harming children, the UN is dangerously Marxist, etc. Meanwhile, Trump's ideas regarding immigration would protect children from exploitation, so it's not that simple

    Nothing in America is aptly named in politics. the left wears Liberalism like an Edgar Suit but they are becoming rapidly authoritarian and openly racist. If the left is not reined in, we will be tilting headlong into a world war. And may whatever deity or hauntless void receives our souls (or lack thereof) have mercy upon us.

    Please explain how the left is openly racist. Liberals are not the ones screaming ”white power” and being retweeted by Trump.
