The Gw Bridge In Washington Heights Ny
Originally this was done for a non-profit organization called “Operation Exodus” in Washington Heights NY for their 25th gala anniversary to sell in an auction. The church steeple you see in the drawing is where their offices are in the basement. They tutor and mentor a lot of kids and teenagers that need help with academics in the neighborhood and I was honored to be a part of this. We were looking for an image that captured the neighborhood and I thought this was perfect. Layered in colored pencils, wax art bars and finished with oil pastels. It’s now hanging in someone’s home as a reminder of the city and the many wonderful people who care and make a difference in someone’s life. Northern Manhattan has a lot of life and dynamic energy in the community going on!
