The cleanest billboard of the Netherlands
Smyle has joined forces with one of the largest beach artists in the Netherlands, Tim Hoekstra, to create a plastic-free advertisement for Smyle’s tooth tablets (toothpaste). Tim is known as an environmentally conscious artist committed to a cleaner future. This unique project, drawn in the sand on the beach of IJmuiden, is most suitable for creating such a large illustration measuring 30 x 40 square meters. We already did this on Plastic Free Day.
This display draws attention to sustainability and environmental friendliness on International Ocean Day. What makes this project special is that the text will be completely washed away by the tide, leaving no trace of litter behind. This symbolizes the urgent need to embrace sustainable alternatives to plastic. The temporary nature of the advertisement in the sand emphasizes the urgency of the plastic problem and the need to take action.
The idea and film were conceived and produced by advertising agency Fitzroy from Amsterdam. Mischa Schreuder, Creative Partner at Fitzroy, is deeply concerned about the issue of waste and sustainability. When Smyle approached us, there was an instant connection. At Fitzroy, we want to create communication that contributes to nature and the environment, and Smyle does this every day with their plastic-free toothpaste. Toothpaste tablets that are not packaged in plastic tubes, and the toothpaste itself does not contain microplastics. A pure product that we were happy to assist with their mission for a plastic-free ocean and world, and importantly, it is also good for your teeth.
