If you've never heard of Tank Sinatra, the creator behind the Instagram powerhouse “Tank's Good News,” chances are you've been living on the Moon. Tank, whose real name is George Resch, is a prolific content creator who gained millions of followers on Instagram through meme creation and reposting hilarious content. "Tank's Good News" is one of Resch's projects where he only focuses on re-sharing positive, uplifting media to the general public. It turns out that Resch's own personal story helped serve as a kind of inspiration for the account.

Resch told Elite Daily that he struggled with sobriety more than a decade ago, before getting completely sober at the age of twenty-two. Now being thirty-eight, Resch recalls: "I would be frustrated that I wasn't positive, but I wasn't looking for anything to be positive [about], so it was a vicious downward cycle where I was unhappy and I looked for things to justify my unhappiness. When I got sober, I thought doing that would kill me. So, I felt like I needed to be positive to survive."
In 2017, Resch created Tank's Good News, the hugely successful project that stems from his frustration with the negativity of current news. “CNN, Fox... they've made a business out of creating a visceral reaction out of people but that reaction is fear, anxiety and negativity," he explained. He didn’t know there was a market for good news, yet said he knew “if I could make people feel good, they would come back."
Kids Do Better When They Know They Have Someone Who Cares About Them
Even with kids who do have fathers, this is still needed. Anyone can be a father but not all are Dads.
The boy on the far left wins the tie competition.... or maybe he "tied" with the boy in the middle.
Load More Replies...This ! Kids don't "need" dads, moms or other, they need milestones, figures to look up to, knowing they can be safe with someone. Parents can do that, sure, but you can always help
Courtney gave a fair opinion. I think a more accurate statement would be “parents SHOULD do that, but you can always help” Kids may have terrible parents and be taken to a loving home. Helping can well, help, but love is essential and heart breaking when it can’t be found.
Load More Replies...I'm happy some teachers not only take pride in helping their pupils learn, but help them learn life skills too. Such great mentors. I hope there are similar men in these boys' middle & high schools, so they & other boys can continue to learn about dads.
Don't get girls into a "gentlemen's club." Bad idea. (Sorry, but I had JUST posted that "gentlemen's club" has a shameful meaning in the US.)
Load More Replies...This is universal. Everyone does better, if someone cares about them. This is a great thing this teacher is doing.
I love this idea, but I wish they would do this for girls as well, I know it might be a better idea to do it with mothers for girls, but I think that a lot of girls who grew up without fathers need that father figure in their life as well, talking from experience here
Wish there were things like this when I was young. Now.looking to volunteer locally for something similar. I'll probably learn more than I'll ever teach.
this is amazing teachers at their best...they go above and beyond their requirements to bring out the best in their students. we need much more of these kind of people
Big Brothers and Big Sisters both provide volunteers to a chance to pair up with a youngster to help guide their journey to be a good person. If you like this post, check them out - a few hours a month can be life-changing for both you and your new mentee .
Absolutely! There has been a chronic shortage of "bigs" and an overabundance of "littles" for decades. The wait list for pairing is depressingly long and a lot of bigs are mentoring 2-3 kids at a time
Load More Replies...That totally made me ugly cry. They look so hand(sniff)some(sniff, sniff).
Just love this photo, the way you dress is so important, my father a young italian immigrant living in sheds travelling for farm work, always had a clean white shirt for a saturday night dance. So you can be poor and still have clean clothes to make an impression.
Great Idea! Well done to these teachers. More schools should follow their example.
That man needs to be awarded with high honors for being a real man and a REAL teacher.
Having positive male role model is critical for ALL children. This man truly has a teacher's heart. Teachers don't just teach, they care and they heal.
Wonderful!! And they all look so happy and PROUD of themselves! 👏👏👏
Thank you for being the amazing "father figures" in these young gentlemen lives🥰🥰
What an amazing man! Excellent use of your time and a big investment in the futures of these young gentlemen
We need many, many more if these "clubs" and mentors. Awesome job guys!
And some claim that we do nothing to help our own. This kind of story doesnt make the news, but if one of these children did anything illegal, the mdia runs with it! Then certain folks will crow to the world about how awful we are and that we do nothing to help our own communities.
Hope they have a girl's club for the same. Not growing up with a father (or ANY positive male role models) for most of my life fücked me up in ways I'm only now understanding, 40-some years later. Girls need that, too.
What awsome guys! Giving kids that place to turn foe the important advice ... such amazing work
Kids today aren't taught how to be good people. They're expected to learn by observing their parents, but their parents are often absent or set poor examples. I think "How to be a good person" should be taught in elementary schools! secondhand...0a75f4.jpg
I think that some boys who have dads could still benefit from this. Just because your dad is around doesn't mean that he's a good dad.
Wish they could have had this 50 years ago with today's "gentleman rules". I think this is brilliant.
Teachers going above what needs to be done. Teachers spend their time and money to help. I think they should be recruited like professional sports and top picks should get 3 million.
Teacher is blissfully unaware of the shameful use of "gentleman's club" in America....
That will make an amazing difference in their lives. Heres to the up and coming CEO's.
How do I support something like this? The pride in these young men's faces made me tear up... What a wonderful venture!!
Etiquette should be brought back into schools period. Political, world and social etiquette is a must. At least these guys have their heads on straight.
Teachers who genuinely care about their students are amazing. We should always be grateful for the educators who go the extra mile 💕
Gave me the goose bumps of extreme happiness, so very heartwarming to read this. Well done, gentlemen!
Amazing. Also, women, there are MANY young girls that either don't have a mamma or they can't speak to them freely. Always answer questions truthfully!
This is so fantastic and I wish it would be implemented everywhere. Some kids aren't bad-- they just have no role models outside of other bad people. Show them a different way and sometimes it makes a huge difference. I don't mean to generalize but especially for boys. I feel like girls have a lot of feminine role models who do this already but boys really need it these days.
If I recall correctly, he had different handshakes with each of his students before they entered the room. Need more people like in public education. But, a lot of States in America hate stuff like this.

The huge popularity of Tank's Good News reflects not only its creator's but our shared fatigue with what’s happening on the screens and media. The worst scenarios are bombarding us every day and it’s only fair we get fed up with it. To find out more about it, what this negative exposure does to our mental wellbeing and how can we be more resilient to it, we spoke with Dr. Lise Deguire, a clinical psychologist and author of award-winning memoir “Flashback Girl: Lessons on Resilience From a Burn Survivor.”
Dr. Lise said that indeed many people report that their mood is negatively affected by the news. “Of course, the news itself tends to focus on negative occurrences. For example, the news will report on the terrible car accident that happened. They will not, of course, report on the thousands of people that safely drove that day. (Safe, happy occurrences are not usually considered news.) But, because the news focuses so much on negative events, it can make us feel that only bad things are happening in the world,” she explained.
The clinical psychologist added that the news often focuses on events that make us fearful, “because when we are afraid, we tend to think we need to keep watching the news.”

Mistaken Love Is Still Love
When asked what are psychological benefits to reducing the time you spend on social media and watching TV, Dr. Lise said that when her clients report anxiety, sadness or anger about the news, she often encourages them to limit their news/social media exposure. “Most of us can stay informed through a quick read of the headlines. Having the news on in the background, or checking Twitter all day, often distresses people because the news almost always focuses on scary negative events and ignores positive ones,” she explained.

The good news is that we can all learn to become more positive and resilient to negativity. “One way is to learn who or what makes us feel good, and who or what makes us feel bad. For example, my mood usually improves when I listen to music or go outside. My mood usually goes downhill when I stop exercising. All of us have activities that lift us up or bring us down.”
Dr. Lise also said that the more aware we can be, the better choices we can make. “Does it help you to dance? Write? Call a friend? Take a bath? See if you can figure out what is in your positivity 'toolbox,'" she suggested.

That's espacially sad cause most big stores would accept to prep your groceries in advance and put them in your trunk. Especially if you need help like by being elderly in a pandemic. I feel them though, it is hard to think through during such panick. I just hope they found a more reliable way to safely buy their groceries.

My Eyes Are Sweating Wow
I helped my mum look after my dad throughout his illness. I did all the heavy and hard stuff she couldn’t do that he would worry about - the garden, cleaning the car, shopping, diy, you name it I did it. There are lots of photos of that time - dad and mum, dad and my brother, dad and his grandchildren but I don’t have a single photo of me with my dad; I was always the one taking the pictures, capturing the memories for everyone else.i will have to try this, I miss him everyday.

Man, why do I read posts like this. I am pregnant, therefore I cry when I,for example, see nice flower and this caused waterfalls.
I remember when I was pregnant crying at credit card commercials. I feel you! Keep some emergency tissues on you at all times. ❤️
Load More Replies...This was beautiful. I really enjoy positivity in such a chaotic world.
This article brings tears to my eyes, warmth to my heart and hope to my soul! I loved each and every story. Kindness and compassion should never be taken for granted.
I've been emotional the past few days and thought I would be laughing and smiling from these posts... so wrong. I cried my eyes out with a few smiles here and there. But at least it is tears from positivity rather than the stress of life.
I needed this today. Thank you Liucija for putting this thread together.
I am dying of breast ca. One of the hardest things for me is worrying about leaving my 3 children and 2 grandchildren behind in what seems like a sad and unkind world. Thank you for relieving my worry and knowing that there will still be good and kind people for them out there when I am gone 😢😢😢😢
Love the rabbit's little studio apartment! We had a rabbit as a pet when I was around 14, and he was the best pet. He and our little dog, about the same size as the rabbit (small dog) would stay in the rabbit's cage together when we all had to go out for a few hours; Dog had no problems toileting through the bottom of the cage, and he and Rabbit would play together, eat together, and nap together. I remember them both very well, even though that was nearly 60 years ago.
Idk why but I cried a little more at each one. Thank you for this
imagine calling an entire country of people vile & then implying that you're part of the group of people being kind.
