“I Teach Swimming To Kids For Free. Mom Demands That I Teach Her Son Exclusively And Give Her The Money”

When you’re a kind enough person to volunteer your own time to help kids learn to swim, the least you should expect is a little gratitude. However, there is a certain kind of mean person out there that can’t appreciate kindness for what it is, choosing to see it as a weakness to be exploited instead.
This swimming instructor from Southern India shared the shocking exchange that she had with a single mom, who appears to be just this type of entitled brat, and people can’t believe the sheer ungratefulness of it all. Making demands for swimming lessons straight off the bat, the mom immediately rings alarm bells. I mean, what better way to endear yourself to somebody you’d like to do you a favor than harass them to ‘reply faster?’ (Facebook cover image: istockphoto / Orbon Alija)

The teacher offering free swimming lessons, Reddit user u/pretent_its_witty, refers to the single mom as ‘Aunty.’ This is a common thing to do in India, as a way to show respect to people who are older than you. “She didn’t tell me what her name was, and I was in office, so I just saved it in a hurry,” she explained. “Usually, I’d save it as Aunty X or Uncle Y. This is not some common customer. I was going to see her kid at least twice a week at the swimming pool (when I agreed in the beginning). And I need to save the number of guardians of kids I am teaching.”
What becomes abundantly clear however is that this mom did not deserve a shred of the poor teacher’s respect. From demands to threats to childish insults, she tried every trick in the book to bully and manipulate the teacher into giving her exactly what she wanted. Don’t believe us? I really hate women like this. I'm a single mom and I don't beg for anything. People like her give single mothers a bad name. Well, at least I understand why she is a SINGLE mom smh..

She doesn't beg either, she demands. That's about as bad as you can get.

The conversation should have ended after the accusation of rudeness for not replying instantly to a private chat during normal office hours. The person on the left is either a sociopath or severely mentally ill, or probably both. Impressive how the instructor could stay so calm.

He probably learned to stay calm while dealing with kids and she looks like just another entitled kid having a tantrum :D

I would have reported her for child endangerment! She literally said she would throw her child (who cannot swim) into a pool and blame whatever happens next on the trainer. Whether she meant it or not, that type of behavior is insane.

If the poor kid has anxiety issues he most likely has them from living with that woman!

We bought new kitchen appliances to remodel our kitchen. I put our not very old stove out for bulk pickup with a free and working perfectly well sign on it. Not even a couples of hours before this lady knocked on our door. She asked why I'm giving it away, how would she be sure it works and if I could deliver it to her house? Yes it really happens.

Reminds me of the post that's trending on here, about the guy who wanted a free table for his new house that he and his new wife just moved into. Crazy jackass was demanding the person who was giving the table away bring it to them, five hours' drive away from where the owner of the table lived, and all this AFTER bitching about the table not having enough chairs (even though the table owner explained, very reasonably, that two of the chairs were thrown out because they were too worn to be used anymore.) Oh, and trying to convince the owner to give them his new table instead, because it had the number of chairs they wanted.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for stupidity. This demanding woman is a terminal case. I feel sorry for her son.

TL:DR For everyone crying fake, the world bigger than you, read the intros! If you had bothered to read the paragraph explaining the texts, you would have seen that this is happening in SOUTHERN INDIA. Not America. In India, it is a social norm to call people who are older than you or assumed to be older than you 'Aunty' or 'Uncle', similar to how here children address adults as Miss or Mister. Here, kids would call a teacher Miss Annie or Mrs. Brown, in India they would say Aunty Annie or Aunty Brown. They have different customs in different countries. People who don't live in the US have different ways of speaking and doing things. If you volunteer for any organization that interacts directly with the public or offers free services, people like this come out of the woodwork. If you personally have never dealt with someone like this, great for you. But they doesn't mean they don't exist. Weirdly, the world has way more people in it than just the ones you know.

If it the social norm to behave like this why does the "teacher" keep her calm and tolerate it with replies for so long. Soooooo fake
