Young girls in dark dresses with black hair around their doll-like faces - these are the main characters of Italian illustrator who creates surreal drawings with a touch of horror.
Virginia Mori, 36, lives and works in Pesaro and Milan, Italy. Her favorite media are pencil, ink, and ballpoint pen on paper. The artist gain following because of her unique, dark and surreal style and imagery. "I can’t say how I arrived at this style," Virginia told to stylenochaser. "It has been a long and slow journey filled with a lot of research, but everything came very naturally, in a very instinctive way. I just followed what I like to do."
Artist's illustrations often have a melancholic or the nightmarish feel to them. "I am not trying to explain anything with certainty with my art. I just want to suggest strange feelings and situations in a metaphoric way."
Below you can find some of her works. Which one is your fave?

Extreme sleep paralysis is what this makes me think of. I get it sometimes and it's really a weird feeling.
I wonder if it means anything that all the other legs have long pants and different shoes than hers/the front legs..? If they're not all "her legs" in a sense, it feels uncomfortably vulnerable, feeling like you can't get away, no privacy, aren't allowed to control the direction of your own body. That's what I get from it anyway.
The oranges in the bottom left corner look a bit like something else...
An Ariana Grande concert... Or many Louises from Bob's Burgers...
"And this, kids, is why we don't throw paper airplanes. Any questions?"
If you do not like Ariana Grande... She will find you... And she will kill you.
I can hear Gloria Estefan singing, "The rhythm is gonna get'cha"
That's a sweet one :) Sleep sets your mind free, letting it wander away to magical worlds.
So creative! I love the concept. Her illustrations of water though somewhat annoy me on account of their synthetic appearance, but it's still cool.
I am behind French doors but can't get them to close. The lions will eat me...
Might want to reduce the dosage of those pain meds you were prescribed...
When you introduce a couple of your friends to each other, and they get along with each other better than they do with you.
This is the consequences of falling asleep while reading a horror book
Symbol : dropping a flag during football halftime, stopping on the correct line and everyone else chooses the other to step on leaving you standing alone. Forgetting your lines in a play and you just freeze up. I only experienced one. I have noticed others out of step and just freeze. I just hope this has happened to EVERYONE at least once so they can feel the horror that goes on in you.
"Oh very funny Charley, just you wait till I get you back in the stable , you are such a jerk on my day aren't you Charley...
Blood actually tastes quite good. It is rich, salty and slightly thick, but not too thick to make it weird.
Okay... Tap four: Bristling Hydra. I get three Energy Counters... And I guess I'll end.
Time is ticking, and will always do so. Your heart is beating, but only temporarily.
"Hey guys! Wanna play Harry Potter? AVADAKADAVRA! Oh... I never really liked them anyway...
I should have known better than try to read it from beginning to end.
"I'm going to wash that man out of my hair and send him on his way..." (From South Pacific.
SHOT THROUGH THE HEART, AND YOU'RE TO BLAME YOU GAVE LOOOOOVE, A BAD NAME
This is so like Shintaro Kago, it is clearly the artist is heavily influenced by Guro Japanese mangakas
awesome Virginia, brilliant, very sensitive, so deep and beautiful, thaks
The artist is heavily influenced by Shintaro Kago and Waita Uziga artworks, the surreal horror and gory style of her drawings is obviously inspired by the japanese manga style known as Guro , though her art is less violent, shocking and not so extreme like those japanese mangakas I mentioned before.
My studio collaborated with Vogue Arts Italia to make real some of those illustrations, check it out if you like it: https://www.behance.net/gallery/48120373/VOGUE-ARTS-Inspired-by-Virginia-Mori-SpecialGucci
I stopped looking at the first 10. I am not a fan. Why do all of the weirdos use women or girls in their freak art?
Well, a little girl is a symbol of innocence, so using them in surreal art makes more of an effect. Also, grown-up women are connected to the idea of childbirth and pregnancy, which can be used in art like this to disturbing effect. There's yer answer.
Load More Replies...My morbid, cray cray, bdsm side (all of me), loves loves LOVES YOU!!! So much is portrayed in these minimalistic yet stunningly haunting pieces of art. You're freaking super talented and amazing and you live in my head...💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚 you, Virginia!!!
