From Los Angeles to Washington DC, people have recently been coming together across the US for Pride Month. But it hasn't just been a celebration for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, because people's parents have also been coming out in support of their LGBT children. Moms and dads joined their kids on the streets to celebrate diversity and raise awareness about LGBT issues, including one mom who carried a sign saying "my trans son is a stud" and somebody's father who wore a t-shirt announcing that he was "the proud dad of a smartass gay son."
"I had an amazing day today marching with my child!" wrote one supportive mom on Facebook after attending The Equality March for Unity and Pride. "We were inspired by all of the support! We can not rest until everyone is accepted for who they are!" We couldn't agree more. Scroll down for a collection of heartwarming pictures of parents and their children celebrating love, tolerance, and understanding. (h/t)

My awesome son with my husband at our first march. What a wonderful day to share with him 🌈❤️💛💚💙💜🌈
Just goes to show, just because you might not "quite approve" of someone's lifestyle doesn't mean you can't love them and be supportive.
I love this woman and her story!! She has been carrying that same sign since I think the 70s. Bless her! <3
My family threw me a surprise pride party bc I came out to all of them lmaoooo 😂🌈
This is how it should be! A whole family full of loving and supportive people. Why should anyone be ashamed for which sex a relative loves?! Who the hell decided centuries ago that same sex relationships are wrong??
Sigggggghhhh. Gay here. Christan. Don't have a choice. Help.

I read this on the bus on my way to work and was so close to tearing up. Amazing!

A beautiful daughter and a '49 Ford. What else does a dad need, really?
My mom drove me all the way from Indiana for my first ever Pride since coming out, thank you all so much for making it an absolutely amazing experience!
People were upset about the white skittles, I think that it was an amazing, being pansexual and androgynous
It IS pretty ducking awesome. 🙌🙌 (I left it at ducking 😂). So cool dad! 👏👏
Shame on any parent that doesn't support their child regardless of sexuality!
Suicide and depression among LGBT youth drops DRAMATICALLY with family support and love. How could anyone not love their kids for who they are? These parents are amazing.
My Grandson and I at our first Pride march!! Very blessed and he is but one of my many loves!! EdBren-594...9d8467.jpg
I really wish this wasn't an issue anymore. Don't get me wrong, I think it's fantastic that there are loving and supporting parents that won't condone their child's sexuality. I wish that having to "come out" wouldn't be such a hard topic. Yeah, I know, for the majority it's always going to be a obstacle, having to face the fear of being ostracized, but it should be a normal part of society now, and yet, it's still being stigmatized. Anyway, it's great to see this kind of support.
I think you meant "condemn," not "condone." Saying they "won't codone" means they won't approve. Think you got your words mixed.

God bless you for reminding us of Jesus' teachings!

Awesome people. We have to support those young women and men to show, that it's th4e HUMAN who counts, not if they are lesbian/gay/trans/etc, fat, skinny, blonde, dark-haired, African, Chinese or European type. Everyone deserves respect and to be proud of whom they are in every aspect.
there shouldn't be a choice about is, you should love your child no matter what sexuality they are... these are great parents
Huge strides in gay rights but still lots of transgender discrimation and ignorance about the science behind it. The fight is not over!
My dad doesn't think being gay is natural but I asked him one day what he would have done if my brother told him he was gay. He told me that although he doesn't understand, my brother is his son and he will always love him no matter what
We are God's creations, our DNA, bodies, chemistry & physiology, self perception. Gay is NOT an abomination. It is how God created people.
Well, Roachie, you seem to be pretty proud of being an a*****e and cramming it in our faces.
My mom never went to pride with me, but to a Kaki King concert, with is almost the same 😁🌈
Not going to lie I teared up a little looking at these. It reminded me that there are amazing people in the world. These are amazing parents.
Stories like this make up, at least a little, for all the horrible things we have to hear about every day. There is good out there if you look for it!
Wow I wish I could be this open about my sexuality with my parents.
i absolutely love this and the message but did anyone notice the little diversity? there were no black or middle eastern families anywhere,,

I don't agree, but I support their choices, and I hope that they feel comfortable with themselves and their choices. I think that it is awesome that their parents support them.

Load More Replies...Why do LGBT+ are marching and heteros do not?.... UMMM WELL maybe because heteros don't get punched in the faces for loving someone? Maybe because heteros aren't discriminated all the way? Maybe because LGBT+ people just want to be treated equally? Maybe that's why?

I sincerely doubt He would send someone to hell for being in a loving relationship with someone of their own sex. People like you really give Christians a bad name. Please be more compassionate. Thank you <3
Load More Replies...Well it's not necessarily encouraged to BE gay, it's just more accepted. And "r******d" is an offensive word, please try not to use it? Being non-gendered is a real thing, with scientific evidence of it's existence, if you know where reliable sources are. It hasn't gotten out of hand, it's just being known. This stuff has been around FOREVER, it's just that people haven't realized/accepted it's existence until recently. I'm not trying to start an arguement, I'm just trying to explain.
Load More Replies...Hopefully you're not implying that being gay is as bad as killing ten people. Cause it isn't, bud.
