How to pick cranberries near Vancouver, Canada:
Last fall in October, I accidentally saw a strange red field as I drove past the highway into Vancouver. Has found information that so collect a cranberry. Looks awesome.
There are air cavities in the cranberries, so it floats. Therefore, during the harvest of ripe berries, the field is first flooded, and then they go with special combines to knock it off the bushes.
Downed berries lie on the surface of the water and look absolutely amazing. Like a red beach.
Berries collected by the “wet” method are not stored, so these berries immediately go for juices, jams or freeze.
