Meet Bell, a cat with a majestic squirrel-like tail. Bell belongs to a recent breed, called Minuet (also known as the Napoleon), and one of its main features is a really fluffy rear end. Other notable characteristics include short legs and a round face, making Minuets so adorable that you just have to say “awww” when looking at them. Very cute, indeed - but why create a *new* commercial breed while we already have so many super cute kitties just waiting to be adopted...? Many of them also have "squirrel-like tails". =^.^=
Totally agree! We have enough cute cat breeds and cats that require homes. Why create another, with short legs, which probably cause issues!!

Seriously! So shocked this is still going on. Along with the physical deformities that u can see there can could be a whole mess of genetic and other health problems that can't be so easily seen causing these animals to lead miserable painful lives.

There exists already a breed with short legs: the Munchkin. When I adopted an abandoned kitty they told me she is a MunchkinX, so her legs are not extremely short and she can do everything my other longlegged cat does. 6-2-15-tos...8f207f.jpg

There is nothing right about breeding cats with life-limiting deformities.
My Low Rider is a squirrel tailed, short legged, cat who was found homeless by my feral cat rescuer friend, Georgann. He is very similar to Bell. He drapes his luxurious tail over his head like Bell which is not shown in this photo. DSC09752-E...712cc7.jpg
She is very cute but I agree with everyone about the health concerns...
You do realize it is extremely difficult to adopt cats in Japan right? There's only 3 ways, pet store adoption, online adoption, or finding a stray. In a country with very limited support to animals citizens will prefer to purchase sadly. If you don't like it then deal with it or do something about it. Let me tell you, a country with different laws and means isn't exactly going to be happy with "American" sympathies Write articles in Japanese about promotion adoption from "Cat Islands" (which is still difficult) in Japan or write petitions for awareness. Japan is still a country that is very new to pet adoption or awareness. Please watch on youtube "Adopting a cat in Japan" by Rachel and Jun. For more details. Get rid of your ignorance and do some research :c
As if regular house cats don't have sufficient tail to knock over everything breakable you are foolish enough to leave on the coffee table. Unless, of course, the minuet's short legs prevent it from reaching the top of the coffee table with its tail!
Is it just me, or does this cat actually seem bothered by the volume of her tail? She seems to be swishing it about as though she's uncomfortable. I would be, also.
we have a rescued main c**n named Minion, his tail could rival hers....
I AGREE WITH YOU HUNDRED PERCENT. Animals are not gadgets for humans to play God with.
