The snail is the manifestation of perseverance and slowness and it is still determined to reach an aim. Under bad conditions, it is retreating itself into its house and drowse until the situation is better. So the hard snailhouse is representing security and protection, whereas the spiral is symbolising movement, towards the inside and towards the outside.

For these snailhouses, no snail had to be hunted. They were found already abandoned. They are painted with acrylic colors and varnished. The photos are made as a community project with the photographer CloudCarboxyl. I painted the snails, she got excited seeing them and took many many pictures, I edited them a little and put them online!
