Momentum In Dust: The Movement Of Skateboarders Captured With Dust

My name is Tomas Januska and recently I’ve photographed downhill skateboarders doing slides with dust. Some of these photos won various photo contests.

Movement means a lot to me. Therefore, in this photo series I wanted to capture extreme sport riders in the sliding moment while joining movement with dust.  The aim of this was to capture the technicality of the sliding movement, something that is also shown in races but differently.

I love taking portraits and I do photograph a lot of them. I also enjoy taking various action shots for its unpredictability of what you could see. The moment when you see the final shot can blow you away with a freezing “arrow” of beauty.

Superb. I love these shots. I've seen chalk dust with dancers but never skateboarders "dusting". Very nice work.
