Given the chance, once again Bored Panda reached out to Milk Dong, the artist behind the powerful and thought-provoking comic/illustration series "HEY HUMAN, SEE WHAT YOU DO!?"
When asked about his process and how he decides which issues to highlight in his illustrations, he responded, "For the 'HEY HUMAN, SEE WHAT YOU DO!?' series, my process starts from a deep dive into news, research papers, and documentaries. I'm always learning about new issues facing the animal kingdom and our planet. I feel a surge of emotion - anger, sadness, frustration - and that emotion fuels my art. I decide what to highlight based on the urgency and relevance of the issue. I hope to give voice to the voiceless in real-time."
Anyone who looks up actual wild Orca information would never think that they should be an animal we steal as babies and make perform tricks in tiny tanks with not nearly enough mental stimulation! Orcas are TERRIFYING! They are rightly called "wolves of the sea". They are smart and CALCULATING, their favorite pastime is violence, and it's surprising that there hasn't been MORE human death by them in captivity.
This needed some context for me, so I went and searched. Seems like a pregnant elephant was wounded a few years ago in India, by a pineapple filled with firecracker. As a result she couldn't eat anymore and starved to death... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-52918603
Regarding personal experiences with animal cruelty, the artist revealed a painful incident that ignited his advocacy. "Yes, I have witnessed incidents of animal cruelty that deeply affected me. Once, I saw a stray dog being ill-treated by some boys in my neighborhood. I felt so helpless and angry. I think that moment sparked the idea of using art to raise awareness about such issues. My drawings are my protest against injustice."
Despite having worked in various industries for survival, the artist never gave up on art. He discussed how these jobs influenced his work. "I have worked in various jobs, each job taught me something different. For example, being a waiter taught me patience, being a fishmonger gave me insights into commercial fishing. All these experiences broadened my perspective on life and society, and this definitely seeped into my art. My varied experiences have helped me illustrate the connection between different aspects of our society and their impact on the natural world."
The artist also shared about his love for animals, particularly dogs, and how their mistreatment impacts his work. "I feel a special connection with all animals, but dogs have a special place in my heart. I own a couple of dogs, and they're my companions, my friends. The mistreatment of dogs, particularly in puppy mills or as part of the illegal dog meat trade, deeply distresses me and has influenced my work."
@Malfar we all do all of those things and we shouldn’t be stealing from nature
and destroy the ocean and eventually the whole planet while you're at it.
Finally, when asked about what he hopes his followers will do after they see his illustrations, Milk Dong said, "I hope my illustrations will make people pause and think. I want them to question their actions and choices, their consumer habits. I hope they understand the message behind each illustration and take steps towards change. Be it adopting a vegan lifestyle, stopping the use of products tested on animals, or even reporting cases of animal abuse, every small action counts. I hope my art sparks that change."
I worked hands on with this particular kind of cruelty (parrots being stuffed into water bottles or pvc pipes and smuggled) . It was heartbreaking
Honeybees are vectors, and they should be removed from US, because they're native to Europe. They're like the Europeans giving smallpox blankets to American Indians: every flower a sick honeybee touches spreads the disease to the native pollinators, killing them off. They are also mediocre pollinators... Flies are better pollinators than honeybees. When you talk about native pollinators like beetles, bats, bumblebees and solitary bees.... Yes we should use the IPM and use beneficial insects to reduce the pests.
We shouldn't give rabbits and hamsters as gifts. Especially not to young children who get bored easily and, don't know how to take care of them.
I love Beluga whales. No, they should not be kept to “perform” they should be free.
On another note... that lioness is absolutley stunning! Shes so beautiful!!
Because they're endangered and people don't want them to go extinct
Did you know that more vending machines kill humans every year than sharks do? And we sontinue to kill the sharks
Not trying to be a jerk... But nothing will change. People are animals and users. A few try to protect, but the majority are a-holes.
This is unfortunately true. The people who don't care outnumber the people who do

I haven't eaten meat in almost 14 years. I only wear clothes made from plant and synthetic fibers. I don't drive cars. I put a lot of real work into trying to not be a damaging factor to my environment. That said, I can name 100 ways my lifestyle is damaging to the environment, and living in a way that is actually beneficial is basically impossible. Righteous indignation is easy, making your own clothes from fibers you grew, and only eating fruits and vegetables that you grew, or foraged (although foraging is potentially taking food from animal and insect life, so that's tricky) isn't easy.
There are so many of these that i never knew existed, its so sad what happens to these poor creatures, it fills me with so much rage I want to hurt the people that do this to them😡😡
Animals don't think and feel in the way humans do so most of these apart from the tricking of elephants(intelligent animals) are fine
So, you think that animals don't feel pain? Try to see the video of puppies being boiled alive and then tell me that they don't feel pain!
Load More Replies...I'm fine with animals being used for things as long as the animal is comfortable, just take care of the horse you're riding or the whale you have doing tricks. It's like a relationship you both get what you want from each other but they also respect one another.
A horse is a domesticated animal with the exception of wild or non-domesticated groups, a whale is a full-on wild animal. One is used for a reason, the other is used for needless entertainment. Unless the whale is involved for educational purpose (aquarium, if rehabilitation is needed for release back into the wild, etc.) it should not be used for "tricks".
