Fat people know it's not healthy. How can they not know? It's everywhere you look! Your condescending, pretended helpfulness is not helpful. One CAN be beautiful even when unhealthy (including skinny people), but that is beside the point. The point is to build confidence and support them so people have the mental reserves to care and help themselves, not dig them deeper into the hole.

Body positivity is knowing your fat, loving yourself so much that you work towards getting to a healthy weight.

It's not healthy to be fat. It's not a sign of beauty either. I care about people's health, that's why I'm here. Your health comes first, then your soppy feelings.

That was NOT the only reason she was bullied. Some people do get picked on for non fat related reasons you know, and she was also picked on because of how she spoke. I was bullied at school and was skinny. If all you can do is go on about her weight then you are just another bully.

oh good grief, you can still have a beautiful face even if you are over weight. Weight is not the only thing people get bullied for. I've seen plenty of plus sized girls in the popular crowds of school. Also, just because she is over weight does not give anyone the right to put her down.

But there's nothing about me that they could pick on. I don't overeat, I don't get triggered easily, I don't brag. All she has to do is eat less. It's not hard. Parents should do more to provide their children with a healthy diet but so many of them don't know how to cook or have any idea about nutrition. I never said I liked bullying. Bullying is the main reason for people to have depression. While I would try to be supportive of those being bullied, I still tell them the truth, as a lie only boosts their self-esteem, nothing else.

I agree. It isn't envy. It's unpleasant people who spot a 'weakness' in someone else and think it would be funny to exploit it and be cruel. They use it as a way to get others to side with them, and as it's better to join in than get picked on too, others do join them. Make a safe little clique. It is also used to make themselves feel better. The 'at least I'm not fat' type of mentality. Or whatever 'flaw' they've picked on. The people who bullied others at my school were all very popular and showed off a lot. Picking on people who were slower, wore glasses, stuttered. Once we left school they turned out to be nothing very special at all. Didn't get good jobs or have an amazing career. Just turned out to be as ordinary as most people. With speech impediments, you can actually use them to your advantage and become popular with the rest of the group. Trust me, I've seen it happen many times. In fact, the most beloved people back in my school were the ones with impediments. But the ones who were fat, had it rough.
