I agree. I believe that kids that are doing the bullying needs to be taught a lesson. I also believe that parents of bullies also need to be informed and if it continues then both the bullier AND the parents need to be taken to court, get counseling, and anything else that will get this to stop. It is NEVER OK TO BULLY ANOTHER PERSON no matter the age, sex, or race.

Most bully-parents are bullies themselves and don't care. I dealt with bullies in school myself, and with one of my children. You can have meetings with the parents in the school office, where you actually get bullied by the parents in front of the principal. It's sad. That happened to my parents in the 60's! When I met with the parents in the 80's (when it was my kid getting bullied) I had a mohawk, spikes on and wore a skull t-shirt. I have things that are pierced you know hurt - I had safety pins through parts of my face. He left my kid alone after that. I let him know that I had friends that look worse than me. The only things bullies understand is more power. Of course I would not do anything to the kid or the parents - but they didn't know that. Sad part is the school didn't do a thing.

I agree, having been on both sides of the coin (I was bullied, and some considered me a bully), I can say that the bullies are the ones who need the help too. As Dr. Phil said, a lot of times they are the ones with problems at home. I don't know how well talking to a parent would do, they never react the same to something like this. As far as I'm concerned, the bully revels in the position of authority that they put themselves in and a lot of times we don't know how to react when we see it happen. I don't think violence would solve the problem (although sometimes you need to shock them before giving them the lecture), but it may be just case by case.
