From trashy one-liners to unsolicited nude pics, it’s no secret that women receive a lot of questionable content from men they never asked for.
In fact, a study showed that 1 in 4 millennial men (27%) have sent a "d-pic" to a woman. Moreover, of millennial men who have sent a lewd photo, 24% have done so without being asked.
And while not every man pushes the chat with a woman that far, the rude texts they dare to press “send” come in all shapes. Like, being a jerk and telling a woman she’s ugly, manipulating her, or using misogyny. It's obvious that way too many women are forced to face such disrespect on a daily basis.
And thanks to women on TikTok, who decided to expose such cases by sharing the rudest texts they ever received from men, this awful problem is finally put into the spotlight and makes us rethink what’s normal and what’s not in men texting women.

Meanwhile, Laura Thompson, a lead researcher at City University, believes that with the digital age and more and more platforms coming out, people always find a way to weaponize them. Moreover, according to her, “while women seem to have largely accepted this as part of the unwritten laws of internet interaction, finding the solution to this type of abuse should not fall into the laps of victims because it 'curtails women’s opportunities.'”
Laura believes that it’s “unfair to expect women to be continually self-policing and every time they want to use some function online, they need to think about how it might be misused by someone else and we can’t scare women off using the internet, or smartphone technology, because it is simply not fair.”

I am so glad I dated in the 80ties before social media and apps. Yep there were lots and lots of jerk men then but most were respectful and would never be so gross and bold. If they were they were considered real losers. Guess everyone is a disrespectful creepy loser now.

I’d like to actually know why women are on Tinder? Everything I see posted about that app is like this post. Wouldn’t a site like Match be just a little bit better? I can only assume that women are on there for entertainment and to make posts like this one in the first place. You are never going to meet anyone worthwhile on there.

I don't understand how dating works, honestly. The only people I've had relationships with, I was close friends with them for a minimum of like two years first. There is so much crap to criticize, so I really don't get why there is still a need to make it sound even worse than it already is. That means "only" ~7% of millennial men have sent an unsolicited d-pic. And out of ALL men, it must be significantly less. Why besmudge a clear cut case with such a misleadingly phrased statistic? Isn't it bad enough already that some men do this, why try to give the impression that it's many more? Only hurting the cause with manipulative crap like this.
