I’m Jarryn Dower, a 24 year old artist from Ocean Grove, Australia who repurposes old goods into artwork. While always trying to come up with unique new artwork concepts, I got my hands on this vintage style world globe to use as my next canvas!
I like to connect the artwork back to the canvas I’m working on. The world map provided a topic of travel and navigation, so I’ve tied the artwork back to that with the sailing/ocean theme. Drawing the illustration on the spherical shape was a huge challenge! The artwork was created with a stippling technique using Posca pens taking approximately 35 hours.
The end result is this one of a kind, interactive artwork concept! When spun, the illustration forms a continuous image!
