Today Is Steve Irwin’s Son’s 14th Birthday! He’s Already An Award Winning Photographer And His Photos Show Why
Australian zookeeper and conservationist Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray in 2006, but his wild soul lives on in his son Robert. Today, the boy is celebrating his 14th birthday, and it’s already clear that he’s following in his late father’s footsteps, helping the world to fall in love with nature.
“14 years ago we welcomed you into our lives,” his mom wrote on Twitter. “Your dad would be so proud of the brilliant young man you have become. I love you, Robert.” His big sister Bindi also had something to say: “You are the greatest brother and friend. I’m so lucky to be your sister. Thank you for always making me smile.”
Since a very young age, Robert has been fascinated with the natural world. Now, together with his family, he travels the planet and captures the beauty of the animal kingdom. The talented 14-year-old is sharing his wildlife photography on social media and people are loving his work just as much as his father’s. Robert is Steve’s only son but it’s clear that he’s a true chip off the old block and the perfect guy to continue what his dad has started.

I really still miss Steve a lot. What an incredible loss when he passed so early. Robert and his sister Bindi are such fine young people. I wish them all the best from the bottom of my heart. ♡
Ikr , sad when he passed. I used to watch his show with my mom when I was 10, it was one of my favorite evenings since I'd spend it with my mom. My mom would always say "look at the amazing animals the earth has" and " aww that man really loves animals "
Load More Replies...i'm still trying to get over that one picture of a spider eating a frog
i remember saving that lioness photo, no idea he took it! very happy he did tho, and he's cute af. (i'm 13 don't worry not a cougar)
Wow, when I was 13 if I would have used the term "af" I'd have been grounded for a month.
Load More Replies...So sad when Steve Irwin died he was a wonderful voice for nature and animal species. Lovely to see that his memory lives on in his son.
I adore this young man, AND love his photography! These kids are an example of just HOW powerful DNA is!! They both could have ended up, loving nature...sure! But to be AS PASSIONATE as their father was??? THAT IS DNA!!
Terri has done a tremendous job raising those 2. Happy Birthday Robert! I know dad is proud!
Those photos show just how much he knows and loves animals. They tell amazing stories and you get a feeling for the spirits of these amazing creatures. True talent, indeed.
Also, when I see this story, I am struck by the LARGER picture! Steve Irwin was just a BIGGER than life personality!! And when I died, I thought, ALL of those animal lives he could have saved!! But...now that I see his son, I have to wonder...perhaps Steve Irwin was only here to father Robert and Bindi Irwin! What if THEY are the ones REALLY going to make MAJOR, BROAD, SWEEPING...GLOBAL changes in the realm of saving wildlife!! You never know!!! Right??
I wish Steve Irwin was still with us. His wife Terri as done an awesome job of raising two wonderful children by herself.
WOW what a gift Robert has! And WOW both him and Bindi look so much like their dad!
This kid resembles his dad so much! He's so energetic and cheerful, it's contagious. And anyone can see he is really passionate about animals.
His dad would be so proud! Amazing photography skills and that picture of Robert when he was little with that snake! TOO CUTE!
I'm normally pretty oblivious to the passing of people I see on TV, but with Steve it was sad like a friend. Glad to see that his family is well and they seem happy.
Great pictures, very talented. Steve Irwin would be so proud.
He's so cute, and the photos are really great. They are all really talented and loving.
Wow, these photos are so intensely beautiful. He has an amazing eye.
Sad that his Dad isn't alive to see his son follow in his footsteps! 💖
His photography is so good! He’s grown into a good looking teenager!! Happy Birthday Robert!!
