But regardless of age, we will always be children to our parents. It is clearly seen in this video posted by Myles Harris, a 30-year-old journalist from Columbus, Ohio, who gets interrupted mid-video by his mom Sandi, 62, excitedly driving up to say “Hi, baby!”

Myles Harris joined the ABC 6 / FOX 28 team as a multi-media journalist in 2021, excited to report news in his hometown, Columbus, Ohio. Little did he know, this would be his rise to fame, in the most amazing way possible.

The viral clip shows Myles getting ready to record a segment for the ABC 6 news station. But he notices a familiar car approaching them, and all he can do is flail his hands in exasperation. He looks as though someone’s taken the last parking spot next to a busy supermarket as his mom approaches.

His mum, Sandy, is super excited to see her son, yelling “Hi, baby!”

Myles turns to his cameraman DeAngelo Byrd and says “That’s my mom, hold on.” And thus rolls in a thrilled lady in a black car, yelling “Hi, baby,” whilst the cameraman is heard laughing in the background. The only one annoyed seems to be Myles, letting her know they’re filming at the moment, that she’s holding up traffic and that she can say hello to DeAngelo, which she happily does with a wave.

She turns to drive away with a laugh and Myles turns back to his cameraman, asking whether he caught it all on film. And to all our benefit, he did.

The heartwarming and hilarious exchange has been seen by over 1M people, racking up 145k likes, and many commenting how their moms would do the same.

They captioned the video with “Typical Sandi. Yes, typical Sandi…” but we’re sure it reflects a mom excited to see her child in any circumstance possible, regardless of the potential repercussions it may bring, which in this case was a tiny traffic jam and years’ worth of embarrassment and laughter for Myles.

“Number-one cheerleader”: Their relationship is one to enjoy by all

They came back to speak about their new-found fame with WDBJ7 and Myles said “She always wants a front-row seat. Number-one cheerleader.” He further said that it’s “just a prime example of a mom being a mom.” Sandi assured she would not spill any secrets, unless Myles continues to keep hold of her mixer. Seems like a fair deal.
