Load More Replies...Oh, I just learned today how electric bills worked in the US! You see, this meme would not work in Germany (and other countries), because we pay the same every month. It‘s an average of what we used the year before and at the end of the year we either get back the money we payed too much or have to pay for an outstanding bill. For us, this is practical, because we can be sure to have the same amount of bills each month (we get payed and have to pay bills monthly). This way we can plan ahead.
That's available here too (USA) called a budget plan with the utility company.😉
Load More Replies...Just did it 2 days ago, could only pay half of it for now, my heater just kicked on as I’m typing this laughing at me, almost April and it’s still freakin cold 🥶
Oh boy do I relate to this .me and my family used to get 800$ light bills. It took the majority of our money so it was with eat or have power. We have moved and out and last week we got our first light bill in our new and and it was only 47$ !!!!!!!!!
"you offered 10 grand if someone could hand me in. I caught me, so where's my 10 grand?"
My grandmother does that despite having plenty of money, she also cuts up toothpaste and lotion tubes to get it all. She is the good kind of frugal, but I still wish she'd spend more money on herself.
This is probably lots of people that get their monthly check, then gotta wait 27 more days, while begging for money from everyone (noo I wasn’t talking about MIL🤨)
I used to avoid checking my bank balance. I knew that burying my head in the sand would do me no good, but I just couldn't bare to look.
I managed to get a good paying job once, but how did my debtors find out?
What you do is turn it around and one-up them with YOUR sad story about being broke XD
We all do this, dish detergent, laundry, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, just not to be wasteful and getting your money’s worth
I wish I were rich enough that the price of beef jerky didn’t feel like a put down
Yup, that is how most of us live. The first of every month I have money transferred to my savings account and take out $50 cash. Every month I hope the money will still be there at the end of the month. But without fail there is an unexpected expense. I should be thankful I have emergency money set aside, but I feel like a failure since I cannot save. Most Americans have less than $400 saved, not because we are lazy or irresponsible; our incomes don't cover our expenses. Credit cards and loans make it even more difficult. I was forced to declare bankruptcy because of excessive medical bills. No loans or credit cards since. I watch every penny. The next generations have it much worse. Dental care is a luxury we can't afford. New, better medications aren't affordable, so again we do without. There is something very wrong with our financial system.
Watching retirement account dwindle down to scary amount. Will it last???
