Interview With ArtistGet ready to dive into the joyful universe of PizzaCake Comics! Created by the talented Ellen Woodbury, these comics are all about finding humor in everyday life. From funny family moments to her cats' silly adventures, Ellen's comics might bring a smile to your face.
"My biggest motivation as an artist is entertaining people and making them smile. The world is such a crazy place and there's a lot of negativity out there, especially online, I want my comics to be something that helps people escape the noise of all that bad stuff, even if just for a little bit," the artist shared with Bored Panda.

Bored Panda reached out to Ellen again to learn more about her and her creative process. Creating is fun and fulfilling, so we asked the artist what aspect of being a comic artist brings her the most joy or satisfaction. She shared, "I love making people laugh and sharing funny/weird situations with people. The drawing side is really fun but it's really satisfying to be able to entertain people."
Naturally, the creative process comes with its own set of challenges. For Ellen, it's working too much. "I think a lot of creators feel like we always need to have content coming out and that can lead to burnout. It's always good to pull back and recharge when you need it."
Ellen started this comic in 2021, and since then, she has brought joy to over 37 thousand people around the world. When we asked her about what she considers to be her biggest milestones, the artist replied that it was being interviewed for Bored Panda! "I thought, 'Wow, I can't believe anyone would want to interview me!' Then, hitting 10k followers on my first social media account really helped to give me motivation to keep going."
If you're someone who is just starting out as an artist or comic creator, Ellen has some advice for you! "The best advice I can give is to let yourself be bad when first starting out. You don't have to be an expert to share your work! Just keep drawing and writing because that's the only way any of us get better. I'm still trying to get better, and I've been making comics for 3 years!"
