Judging others—it’s something that we all do, all the time. Whether we’re aware of it or entirely subconsciously, we’re constantly evaluating and interpreting the world around us. Making comments about people and situations in our heads. Checking how the world conforms to how we imagine it should be like. And frowning upon anyone who litters!
After being prompted to open up by redditor u/supercoliofy, internet users began sharing the things that make them silently judge people. Taking a deep dive into their comments is enlightening: we’ve judged people for similar things; we’ve done some of the things in this list that deserve judgment.
Read on for some silent judgment-gone-loud, upvote the posts you agree with, and drop on by the comment section to share your opinions, dear Pandas. Do bamboo thieves make you angry? Do you think people give other bears more recognition? We’re very interested to hear what makes you silently judge someone.
Bored Panda reached out to Lee Chambers, a Psychologist and Wellbeing Consultant, to talk about why we judge other people, as well as what role this plays in our lives.
"Judging others is something that we as humans do, both consciously and automatically, and there are a number of reasons why we do it. Comically, we are often told as children not to judge others and have stories shared about how judging others can mean we upset them or lose opportunities to see what really lies behind our perception," he told Bored Panda. I immediately judge you if you make fun of someone who's trying. I saw someone make fun of an overweight classmate despite the fact that he was doing diets, running, and exercising. He's putting an effort and you have no right to s**t on him.
Psychologist Lee, the founder of Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing and PhenomGames, revealed to Bored Panda some of the reasons why we judge other people.
"Sometimes, we judge others to feel superior ourselves, finding faults in others, highlighting them, and feeling better about ourselves in the process. Sometimes, we use it to work out where we fit in, recognizing how we want to be, where our aspirations lie, and how we don't want to become," he said.
"Sometimes, it's in response to our own flaws, and we attack others for what we don't like or don't see into ourselves. And on other occasions, it's to fit into a wider group who judge something or someone, and we conform and perform with the same judgment."
People who have no awareness of their surroundings when they're out in public.
It doesn't cost anything to wait your turn in a queue, hold a door open for someone, turn on your indicators 10 seconds earlier than you just did, or not block off the entire pavement because you want to hold hands with your husband / wife.
It's so selfish. Drives me mad just thinking about it.
Thank you for the gold, kind stranger.
people who don't say please and thank you.
people who act like a d**k to service staff like cashiers and waiters.
people who generally show a lack of consideration to other people.
one thing my dad always told me: manners cost nothing.
According to Lee, being judgmental can be good and it "does have some benefits when used mindfully," however.
"It can help us to set goals, find alignment with our values, it can help us to build the self-awareness of others and it can boost our self-esteem," he told Bored Panda.
"Add to that it can also help us to make positive social choices, and it's understanding how and why we judge that gives us the ability to use it for our benefits instead of escaping our flaws or pulling others down."
Littering. It hurts to watch, I don't see how people can litter.
Edit: Hey Cloin
I think it is what you are taught in the home this is something that needs to be learned from birth! If I tried it outside - would you do that at home?
I judge people for not washing their hands after using the bathroom
OMG! YES! My OCD spikes out of control for things like this. End up getting panic attacks if I feel surrounded by too much of it😓
Racism. In any form.
Don't be silent about racism. Judge loud and clear. Make sure people hear your voice.
My father is a racist (among other flaws, such as misogynism, or verbal and emotional abuse). All my efforts to reason with him failed. He is still my father, but nobody needs that kind of toxicity in their lives. I moved away and haven't spoken to him in years. He doesn't seem to mind.
I feel you Alexia - none of my family are allowed in my life as they are all exceptionally toxic. As hard as it can be your self preservation is job 1
Load More Replies..."my confederate flag isn't racist, it's a symbol of my southern heritage." -_-
Too many times I find myself thinking “maybe we should have let them secede.”
Load More Replies...I brought my 18 yo niece to an all expense shopping trip in the large city I live in. She’s from a small town and decided that she was racist and homophobic. She has never been invited back and I’ve never sent her another gift. She knows why.
the good thing about kids is that they can be taught. I hope that her trip to your city opened her up to learning ....and that one day she will change.
Load More Replies...THIS!! If you treat some one differently because of their race, then you are being racist. Doesn't matter that you treated some one better or worse. Gave them the job or promotion. If you biased your decision on the color of their skin instead of the content of their character, then it was racist. Example: Treating white people poorly, just because they are white.
In my part of world, we have casual racism. Like my own mother who is the sweetest lady in the world won't hurt a soul, she makes comments in private about people's complexion, size etc, it drives me nuts
i hate people who think everything is racist like theres racism then theres people who take the piss
Both are bad. One is about racist systems and the other is about racist individuals. It's okay to object to both. It's like how, in my country, on average, women make $0.84 cents for every $1 men make AND incels are awful outspoken misogynists who are a threat to women everywhere. That's systemic sexism and individual sexism. Both are bad.
Load More Replies...Agree 100%. I had a black professor in college who's advice I follow all the time. If you are not sure if something is racist then change it to the opposite and see if it offends you. If it does then the original is racist as well. Black Lives Matter = White Lives Matter. If either offends you then both are racist.
That advice is good in theory, but I don't think it makes sense in practice. It removes the reality of power from the conversation. In a lot of countries, race is very much tied to power. For a comparison, look at gender. A martial arts gym may offer a Women's Only class that focuses on self defense. That makes sense. Women are frequently targeted in violent acts, and many (especially with a history of abuse) may be uncomfortable attending that sort of class with men. This class looks at the power imbalance and works to fix it. A Men's Only martial arts class would likely not be as cool. Women are already underrepresented in martial arts. There's not a reason to exclude them from a class. Power matters here. Flipping identititles often ignores reality. It doesn't always make sense.
Load More Replies...Here in Sweden people are so affraid to be racist that they basically act racist. (Like cutting out people of darker skin from cartoons) Just makes it more racist!
If a labrador retriever can hook up with a bulldog or a tomcat cat get with a siamese... why the hell can't I have a black girlfriend?? Or an Asian girlfriend? Are we the only "race" that worries about "mixing?" Aren't mutts the most loveable??? Stew on that for a bit!
Bigotry of any kind, not just racism (which is, admittedly, poisonous): gender bias, discrimination against people with spiritual / religious beliefs which differ from our own, and - these days - ostracizing people who choose to not participate in the Covid drug trials.
I'm from India. We have our own issues. Can anyone please explain if I say all lives matter. Does that make me a racist. We all have families, friends, parents, partners to go to without being discriminated or killed.
Yes and No, but mostly yes. In the same way that if you were a straight guy that had a male friend, that you kept introducing to people as your "Boyfriend", would lead to people assuming you're gay, saying All Lives Matter is going to make people assume you're racist. The reason for this is that the ALM movement is a product of a rightwing media propaganda campaign that demonises BLM as Black Supremist group when in reality they're campaigning against racist cops killing black people over minor offenses. So while it's true, your friend is a "Boy Friend" and you may feel that All Lives Matter what your communicating is something else.
Load More Replies...But isn’t the current trend of anti-racism actually racism? What do we do then?
Anti-racism is not racism, it's anti-racism. If you feel that people protesting a man being killed by the police because of his colour is attack on you and your race then you need to ask your self why that is.
Load More Replies...In our country is mostly about gypsies and I don't judge people who avoid gypsies actually. I have mostly bad experience with them myself, I am afraid of them :( I don't have bad experiences with other races or nationalities.
Wouldn't it be great if the entire population saw just in one shade of grey when we look at each other?
No. Your race is a part of you as much as your shoe size or your eye color. There's no reason to ignore that. We should embrace each other's races -- not ignore them. There was a great line I read from a Black author, "When you say you don't see color, I hear you don't see me."
Load More Replies...Black Lives Matters, always, but BLM is a racist movement that no longer represents what people believe it did
Correct according to whom? In many books, the skin color of a character isn't mentioned at all, but if they make that person black in a movie people get mad "they weren't black in the book"... the thing is, many people assume that white is the default, and everyone in every story should be white unless it specifically states otherwise.
Load More Replies...If you really believe that, then say "All lives matter, and of course that equally includes all black lives". Actually say it.
Load More Replies...No one has ever said they don't. But saying that in response to someone saying that Black lives matter is like standing up at your friend's grandmother's funeral and yelling "I love my grandmother too! Why aren't you talking about MY grandmother?!"
Load More Replies...You're displaying your ignorance, Ladislav, and that's me being charitable.
Load More Replies...Far from everyone makes errors with malicious intent. Quite often, people aren’t even aware that they’re making a mistake. Or they might not think that something that elicits judgment (like parking wrong or being late to meet someone all the friggin’ time) is actually that big of a deal. It’s selfishness and we’ve all got that, just in varying amounts.
We know that being self-aware of our own flaws is difficult. For one, nobody likes thinking that they’re less than perfect. Besides, we don’t have the luxury of seeing our behavior from a different perspective. That’s why it’s important to speak up if you see someone constantly making the same mistakes.
When they have no knowledge of the topic but is still arguing to the person who actually has the knowledge. I mean seriously if you dont know what you're talking about then stfu
People who talk really loud on the phone in quiet public places.
If you don’t hear any criticism about what you do, then it’s only natural to assume you’re ‘perfect’ and ‘flawless.’ If there’s no feedback, how can we expect someone to learn? Overly selfish people don’t change their ways at the drop of a hat. It takes a series of moments of clarity to get them to think that maybe—just maybe—they might need to rethink some things. However, some individuals find it hard to get past the embarrassment that comes from realizing they’ve been making mistakes.
"We spend a lot of time and effort presenting an ideal version of ourselves to other people. When something happens that contrasts with the image we’ve been projecting—when we say or do something that shows we actually aren’t as graceful or as smart as we’d like people to believe—we feel embarrassed," Vanessa Bohns from Cornell University explained to Bored Panda.
People walking toward you that don't put equal effort into avoiding collision. I'll move a bit, but you should do the same. You expect me to walk around you?
This! One time, 3 people were walking towards me side by side, taking up the entire pavement. I would have had to walk in the busy road to avoid them. They did not move over one inch. I just stopped in the pavement and looked at them. They also stopped in front of me until it got awkward and they grew enough social awareness to apologise... 😑
I can't stand people who piss on the toilet seat and don't clean it.
How could you just leave your own urine and poop on a public toilet seat with a clear conscience? ಠ▃ಠ
"Discovering you were wrong about something most everyone else around you has long known to be true is one of those moments. In that moment we learn, 'Wait a minute, maybe I haven’t been presenting the image of being smart or worldly that I thought I was presenting all this time,' which is embarrassing."
One powerful way to change for the better is to become kinder, more altruistic, more giving. And there’s an added benefit, too—you’ll become happier while making the world a better place.
Not using a turn signal when driving. It's not that hard, and it's pretty arrogant not to use one
I think I've been the only BMW driver that used their turn signals. I’ve heard tales of others doing the same. But they're probably apocryphal and now lost in time.
I can't stand people who don't pick up their dog's s**t! You're a scumbag!
or those folks who leave doggy poo bags hanging from trees and bushes like weird Christmas decorations... they just can't be bothered to put it in the doggy bin..
Being unjustifiably rude to waiters, sales associates, janitors, etc. (basically anyone who is being paid to perform a service for you)
It is extremely telling of a person's character.
Saw a old, spoiled lady getting her bad character out on a approx. 20 y.o. waiter, because he didn't get the 6 wine glasses at the same filling level on first try. From then on, she always watched him and shook her head and said things like "i would be shamed soo much if i were him". Next morning (it was in a hotel) i overheard from her family that she got a stomach bug and diarrhea and can't make it to breakfast. Well deserved
"The 10 keys to happier living are giving, relating, exercising, awareness, trying out, direction, resilience, emotions, acceptance, and meaning. We are likely to be happier if our lives have direction, meaning, and purpose and if we are part of something bigger than ourselves," Sarah Vero from ‘Action for Happiness’ told Bored Panda.
People who bring children to situations that are not appropriate for children.
Mmm.... define 'appropriate' for children. The picture suggests an office. I don't judge for this. People don't want to bring their kids to offices and the like. If they do it's usually because they don't have any other option and they are doing the best they can with what they have. Bars and genuine inappropriate places and times are a different story.
Even worse are the people who play their music through their speakers on a trail. You're outside its gorgeous there are birds and s**t. Turn off you god damn music you're ruining it for the rest of us.
Finally: "I judge people who complain about politics, but choose not to vote
Unless you can't legally vote. In my country, we have lots of people disenfranchised from voting, often for very petty reasons. If you're politically active and engaged in other ways, I figure you've earned your right to complain -- even if you can't vote.
"Think about how you can reach out and do things for others, help a neighbor or volunteer for a cause, we get happiness high from helping other people. Or start small and simply list three things that you can be grateful for each night before bed. Take it slow and be kind to yourself,” she suggested how people can learn to open up to new experiences and helping others.
Parking.
If you can't get within the lines the first time, it's ok to adjust.
Not paying attention to your screaming kid. Like not even trying.
Throwing others under the bus in the work place for their own personal gain. Especially when they do it in front of a group of people,
I work at a Starbucks in a grocery store and I have two regulars with scrawny, super scraggly kids and they spend $7-$10 on one or two drinks while they yell at their kid for wanting a 75 cent doughnut.
The kicker is that they're paying with food stamps.
So that. I judge that.
I feel sorry when mommy and daddy coming in for lots of beer and stronger stuff, but the kids got nothing.
When you tailgate me when there is a slow car in front of me. What a pointless action and people do it all the time. It accomplishes nothing except making the road even more dangerous than it already is.
People who don't take care of their dogs.
I'm not talking about people who don't feed some super premium dog food, or get them groomed every 2 weeks, or even those people who opt to euthanize because they can't afford a 12K surgery.
I'm talking about doing the bare f**king minimum. Take a brush and brush your dog. Find a food that doesn't give him explosive diarrhea every time he has to take a s**t. Give that little turd factory some discipline so he stops trying to maul toddlers when he inevitably dashes out your front door and across the street. For f**ks sake, run your labs and goldens until they're too tired to move any more. A tired dog is a happy dog.
I judge people who shut down those asking questions and trying to learn more
so religious zealots, obstinate teachers, totalitarian governments - most of society's figures of authority
I'm not always silent about it, but people at my local supermarket who refuse to return their shopping carts, but instead leave them to roll into other cars whenever the next wind gust comes along.
The last lady I confronted about this said some bulls**t that was basically blah blah blah my bad back, but she managed to push it all around the store and then fully loaded out to her car, now she suddenly can't push a now-empty cart a few more feet to the return?? Can't stand those people.
In Belgium we have to put a coin in the trolley to be able to use it. Simple solution.
People who are habitually late to things. It's one of the most inconsiderate things I can thing of and yet it seems so common
Ppl hu typ lyk dis.
Or people who don't use punctuation or at least a damn full stop to break up their god damned sentences. Drives me insane and although I'm not the greatest at punctuation and grammar, I automatically think you're and idiot.
Definitely smoking cigarettes while pregnant. I can't help not judging you for that s**t.
I have a coworker who "only feeds her children bio foods" but she's smoking while breastfeeding...
If you don't like animals....I don't know if I like you.
There's nothing I dislike more than when a husband feels like he has to act like his wife's authority while other people are around. I hate gender roles in relationships
People who have their phones out in a goddamn movie theater. We all payed the same price. I don't care if you don't want to get your money's worth, I do. I am going to yell and you and if you don't stop, throw popcorn at you till you do.
Constantly posting condescending political rants on facebook.
Also those who can't admit that they are wrong, or when they've lost. 🤨
Anyone who adopts a "whatever" policy to being late. I freak out when I'm late for something, and it absolutely blows my mind when people just don't care.
I've seen way too many people who think arriving an hour late to an important event makes them cooler
Being involved in an MLM... Scentsy, Essential Oils, It Works!, etc.
It's not that I don't appreciate the fact that they are trying to better themselves. It's that I assume they are really stupid for getting suckered in the first place.
Crass public behaviour, especially while drunk. If you can't handle your alcohol without being a s**t, don't drink. Hate it.
People who give disabled people dirty looks. Or shops that don't have access like we need to get in too you know
I have even experienced disabled people giving other disabled people a hard time. Ahhhh humans, what to do.
Load More Replies...People who leave unwanted items scattered all over the store, especially things that need to be frozen and are just sitting in the canned goods or the bread aisle. If you decide you don't want something, give it to the checkout clerk so it can be returned to the right place. Especially do not leave raw meat just sitting around. Also, people who "donate" so-long-past-expiry-that-it's-not-safe food and other unusable items to the Food Bank. The less fortunate do not want your six year old cocktail onions or your opened package of crackers.
As someone who used to work in a grocery store, I totally agree. You don't want something? Just give it to me so I can have someone put it back. Such a waste to find a package of chicken stuffed in between the magazine racks.
Load More Replies...I judge people who wear their mask under their nose and think they're doing it right. I mean come on, we're like 3 years into this thing and you're still half assing the mask.
People who give me weird looks when I dress fancy… dude I can wear a suit on a Wednesday. Or a dress on a Monday. I can do whatever the h-e-double hockey sticks I want.
After the last two years, I have come to judge anyone who says, "I did my own research/vaccines are evil," the way I'd have judged the defendants at Nuremberg. This is unfair of me, I know it, and I'm working on it. Mea culpa.
"did my own research" == "watched bullshit on youtube". I send them this. the-ive-do...5aa1ea.png
Load More Replies...I am going to say something that will probably be controversial. I am seriously judgmental of people who have fertility treatments in order to have children. It costs tens of thousands of dollars for the process, and if your insurance is paying for it that means that everyone else's insurance costs are going up. And this is not about wanting children or a family. There are thousands and thousands of orphans of all ages, colors, nationalities, etc. Out there starving for a home. No. Fertility treatments are about one thing: passing on your precious genes. Making sure your own magical combination of DNA goes on for one more generation. And I think it is an egotistical waste of economic and medical resources.
I don't care if it's controversial, as l agree. And it really bothers me that they talk about parenthood when they mean pregnancy. Two entirely different things
Load More Replies...Interrupters ! People who won't let others finish their sentence, or don't let them finish whatever they're doing ... because they think, they're "more important" than everyone else! It's just being rude and inconsiderate.
I judge people who, without benefit of actually knowing me, attempt to discuss politics with me. In almost EVERY case they misjudge where I stand. Possibly this is because of geography. I don't know. But if you're some rando on a bus or in the checkout line, I'm not interested in your political leanings.
I live in christian trump country. You'd be amazed at how many talk to me assuming I'm christian, republican and racist. I shut it down hard. You assume things with a stranger, I will be happy to provide the consequences you reap.
Load More Replies...There are a lot of people in my city who are politically progressive, generous, pleasant people... but when the topic of homelessness comes up, they just turn incredibly hateful. Homelessness is a massive problem here and it's sometimes frustrating to deal with. But if you can see a confused, elderly, mentally ill person living in a cardboard box under a freeway overpass, and instead of feeling empathy you just complain that they're blocking the sidewalk... there's something wrong with you.
in civilised countries, aka what trump calls 'shitholes', we have social housing.

Load More Replies...People who are walking about aimlessly buried in their phones expecting you to move out of their way.....no I'm not moving. If you walk into me, drop your phone or whatever then it's your own effin' fault!!
I still, and will continue to, judge people who won't wear a mask to protect others, and those who won't get vaccinated. I've become adept at showing my judginess even while wearing a mask, hat, and sunglasses, and without using any verbal signals.
Just got a t-shirt that reads "I Identify as Vaccinated" I think it is hilarious, because I wasn't born vaccinated.
Load More Replies...People who treat animals poorly. (e. g. eat meat every day, go to horse races, keep their bunny in a tiny cage.)
I agree with everything but the eating part. If something dies, eat it. What I can’t stand is people who waste meat- let it go expired or cook too much and throw it away. That animal died- have some respect. Especially if it’s a whole animal like a chicken or turkey. If you waste it, it truly died for no reason.

Load More Replies...Most of these I wouldn't silently judge...I'd loudly judge. One thing I do silently judge is when people from other countries come here and don't pay attention to laws or safety things, like street signs. I live in an area with a lot of immigration and, I understand yoou may not know the language yet, but pay attention to the behavior of people around you until you figure out certain things. We have people riding their bikes on highways in the area which is against the law and dangerous. A lot of people on bikes with no shirts or shoes on freeways, a lot of uninsured people... We also had a lot of people who work jobs with equipment they aren't licensed to handle because it was cheaper for the contractors to hire undocumented peoples. It's dangerous for them and for others. I know it's not PC to say it but I'm definitely judging those contractors if you put other people in danger because you don't know or care about laws that govern safety.
A lot of time not intended. If you see from where those people come, you'll understand. If you were used to the streets of Mumbai, you will think the streets in Asterdam are 100% safe. People have to learn how to follow rules, because in a lot of countries, people are just doing something.

I'm noticing that too. I bet the use of the word "hate" on this site has increased greatly in the past few months. But people love to pick sides, maybe it gives them a sense of purpose that's otherwise lacking in their lives.
Load More Replies...People who get rid of animals because they aren’t “convenient” anymore. When you adopt an animal, you adopt it for life. Also, when people use their pets’ reproductive system to make money. The pounds are full of animals with no homes. We don’t need more designer puppies.
I've reached that stage in life where almost everyone pisses me off. I realise that says a lot more about me than anyone else, but fück them all.
I judge people who drive large lifted trucks who adorn them testicles. I like trucks. I drive a truck. Don’t ruin it for me.
It’s so weird and obscene. I’m not shy about the human body and all bodies are beautiful but really?! It’s just unnecessary and Crude.

Putting their social media accounts everywhere. i.e. 'everyone is an aspiring celebrity' culture. The worst offense I see is in dating profiles, with "follow me" instead of a description, a sure sign of no personality. The dumbest are probably the flashy cars with a social media window sticker, since there are so many cases of cars being stolen because of the details posted on the person's account.
I hate people that proudly announce every chance they get, how smart their kids are, however, they think that kids cannot understand good behavior and never teach them manners or consequences, because "kids are too young to know or to be taught better" I've worked with kids of all ages for 30 years, and let me tell you; Kids know, and they're manipulating you, because they know they can get away with everything around their parents, why do you think they behave differently and better with other adults like teachers, nannies, parents of other children etc. Another adult or caretaker wouldn't discipline your kids, but the kids don't know this so they behave well
Long nails on people who work with food or in health care. How can you really get those clean?
I judge people who choose to live in a country where their native language is not spoken.. and even after years, they have not bothered to learn the local language. There is always a way to learn it... and not doing it is lazy and ignorant in my opinion.
stop sending me youtube link to anti vaccines and vegan clips. please. you do you, i do me.
Wow, did I upvote a bunch of these. (also guilty of a few). Amazing how many of these could be avoided with the "Golden rule"
People who repeat talking points without having any idea what they actually mean. If you try to actually engage, they just spew more talking points. Literally can't carry on a conversation because they have no idea what they're talking about, but they'll roll their eyes, shout at you, and act like YOU are the asshole.
People who lie. People who break basic society rules. I don’t care if the lie didn’t hurt anyone, or if the rule is stupid. Change the rules instead of breaking them. People who constantly lie, can they be honest with themselves? And if they are, do they feel fine lying all the time?
People who habitually talk over others. Why would you interrupt someone answering a question you asked? I work with someone who just does not understand how conversations work.
Nuerotypical people judging nuerodivergent people for not being "normal" F**k those people.
People who walk into my podiatrist with their bare, filthy, smelly feet.
People who can't grasp third grade literacy skills, unless they have a legitimate learning disorder. Being willfully illiterate is trashy.
People that don't follow the rules for their recycling plants/centers. In most plants/centers, they'll simply throw away recyclables that aren't properly cleaned, non-recyclable parts removed, wrong number, etc. Many people don't know this or do this. They just toss anything plastic/glass/paper in the bin and think they're helping when all they're doing is making trash with extra steps.
Religion. Christian Evangelicals, mostly. Why take any responsibility for your personal actions your entire life when you can confess all your sins on your deathbed and get a free pass?
So much of this is petty or ignorant of what other people are working with - makes me very sad about other people. Save yourself some space in your brain for others and assume they're dealing with difficult things, a hard day, kid who is having a hard time, they had kids before becoming poor, they're just living their life - whatever. Trust me, you're no peach yourself.
People who claim to be medically exempt from wearing masks and then actually wear a mask with no problems when you tell them your work doesn't allow mask exemptions. My work doesn't allow exemptions for several reasons, and we are within our right to do so, and I have yet to have someone who claims medical exemption leave. They always take a mask and shockingly, actually have zero issues. There are fully valid reasons why someone can't wear a mask, but if you really had a reason you can't wear one, you would leave instead of taking a mask and wearing it. And so yes, I judge people who fake or exaggerate conditions because they don't want to follow rules in a pandemic because they just make it harder on the people who genuinely have real medical conditions.
People who are nasty on anipal twitter. Who cares if they talk in baby talk or the spellings wrong. We KNOW it’s not really animals typing but it’s fun and there are some fantastic communities on there who offer friendship and support to people who have no one. If you don’t like , move on . Live and let live.
I judge people by their book shelves. And I judge them far more for _not_ having a book shelf than for having cheap and/or trashy books
There is a culture in America. You are paid by the government for each child you have and can't support. You also must have no support of the significant other. So our system encourages it.
Spoken like someone who knows nothing about the US welfare system. First, government doesn't pay you anything unless you pay in and qualify to receive SSI or SSDI due to age/disability. The only cash program is TANFF, which is critically underfunded, distributed through poorly designed programs, when the state isn't hording the money for other stuff. Welfare requires info from both biological parents, and they evaluate your support arrangements if you aren't sharing a household to determine if it meets their income guidelines. If the other parent isn't contributing voluntarily, they hunt down that parent, verify DNA and enforce a support agreement based on their income (& not their actual financial situation which may not actually afford the amount they determine). Then the state will award Medicaid/CHIP, SNAP, WIC, Section 8, none of which is cash. Welfare reform of 90s changed the programs to require contribution from both parents.
Load More Replies...People who give disabled people dirty looks.
Load More Replies...Oh, and people who put trash in recycling receptacles--or put recyclable paper in the trash when the the recycle bin is two steps away.
unless you are literally blind, there is no reason for this.
Load More Replies...I've known a couple of people like this because they were pathological liars. It's not an excuse, just an explanation. I hate them just the same.
Load More Replies...Poor work ethic. Someone has to cover for you when you’re out. If you don’t want the job, quit and let us get someone who does.
As an employer, I would rather have someone who knows how to show up instead of the guy who knows how to do the job.

Load More Replies...Parents who count to three, and then...well,nothing happens. If you're going to count, when you hit three, you better follow through.
Load More Replies...These are all too safe and reasonable. I will judge you if you watch reality tv, add at the end when you say the word ‘something’ or ‘anything’, wear Crocs, buy every FIFA game or have scalped a PS5. Nothing exactly wrong with these things by I will automatically think less of you.
