This artist, originally from Alaska, can make anyone fall in love with her work! Using her own technique, Lee Cross—who signs her works under the pseudonym Wood Splitter Lee—creates incredible plush sculptures that realistically portray baby animals.
Although she also makes playful animals with horns and bright colors, they are actually close to their real-life counterparts.
Lee Cross doesn’t use molds or any sort of patterns when making the hyper-realistic animals. It all starts with a skeleton made of wood, which is then “padded” to look softer and later gets covered with synthetic fur. The finishing touches, according to Wood Splitter Lee, are made with acrylic paint. It’s super delicate work that requires working with brushes.

I would want ALL of these guys so that I could start a "wandering petting zoo." There would be educational "knowledge cards" to go along with the "holding/ petting." And because these fur-guys aren't "real," they NEVER grow up, AND you don't have to feed them! *(Let alone clean up the "you-know-whats!") *I wonder if the person who made these can make dragons and phoenixes?
Oh...my ...GAAAAAAAWD!!!!!!! My wife would want all of these...But especially a raccoon and a sloth. I didnt see them, but she'd want also want a little skunk, an opposum, and oddly enough, a dragonfly. Hell, these things are so cute,I was gushing over them as much as she was.
This artist is absolutely amazing if I could get them all I would, they are so life like , just fantastic!
These are incredible, they must take the artist so long to make! 🤩
Some of these are really cute!! The others look like mutant denizens from hell.
