Cuddly Bats is back with fresh comics and a brand-new book to brighten up your day. Not familiar with Cuddly Bats? Cuddly Bats is a comic about the adorable bat couple Luna and Shadow. The lovely bat duo, who just love to cuddle, make pizza, and have movie nights together.
Their uplifting and frequently humorous stories will definitely charm you with cuteness and fill your heart with happiness. See more of my comics on Bored Panda by checking out the previous articles.

I Win
So how were Luna and Shadow created? It all started with that one illustration of the cute flying fox that I made just for fun. At that time, he was only one of several characters that I had created, and I never expected that he would eventually become much more than that: one of the two main characters in Cuddly Bats comics.
He Said It Again
What's This?
For quite some time, I used this character's illustration as my screensaver. And even after a few months had passed, I still really loved the design. Slowly, the idea of creating a bat couple comic was born.
For Shadow, I decided to keep the original black bat appearance and began focusing on Luna. At first, I was thinking about making her purple, but since I adore albino animals, I decided to try and make an albino version as well. And as soon as I finished the sketch, I knew: this is Luna.
Under Control
Witchcraft
I also came to the realization that I prefer to keep the characters in more natural colors. This way, the character color scheme works as a nice contrast to the colorful backgrounds.
When it came to their personalities, I wasn't making any plans. I started collecting ideas and inspirations from my real life and translating them into the Cuddly Bats world.
It's Easy
The more comics I made, the more of their individual traits came to light. I think it is better to leave some things open and slowly get to know your characters. And with that, you'll also get to know yourself, as the characters that you create will always reflect who you are as well.
