This is a collection of drawings and paintings I have done over the years of various people.
Nirvana: Unplugged
This drawing I did back in high school in 1998 or so. I was a huge Nirvana fan and always will be. I drew several pictures of Kurt over the years.
Determination
This is an acrylic painting I did that was inspired by the horror film “High Tension.” I took a photograph of my sister to use as a reference and make it more personal than just copying the original actress in the same position and colors.
Portrait of a Badass
This I created using the app “Brushes” and I literally created it on my iPhone using only my fingers and the app’s various brushes. It allows you to zoom in over 3000%, so the image was extremely pixilated being that close up. I had to work by constantly zooming back and forth while looking at the DVD cover as a reference. It took several days and hours to create…I lost track of the time. I just wanted to experiment with digital media but still actually draw something detailed.
Robin
This is a colored pencil portrait I drew of my wife Robin. I love how it came out.
Raymond Carver
This is a drawing that I did of short story writer Raymond Carver using a book jacket photo reference. It is a poster-sized drawing that survived Hurricane Katrina with minor damage. You can see some holes and creases in it, but it is a survivor of the storm. It was purchased by someone on my Etsy page that was a real fan of the author.
Nirvana at Reading Festival
One of many Kurt Cobain drawings I did back in the 90s.
Yosemite Bound
I drew this from a photo I took during a trip to Yosemite National Park.
