In the past few decades, we've seen street art turn from vandalism to some serious contemporary art business. Many great street artists use the city streets as an open-air gallery, expressing themselves and exposing their works for everyone to see. After all, isn't it good to see some amazing art creations coloring the grayness of the city on the way home?

Even though there are many amazing street artists which we would like to share, this artist stands out of the crowd. Johan Karlgren, who goes by the artistic name Pappas Pärlor, is a Swedish urban artist who specializes in pixel art by creating figures with beads and integrating them into urban environments.

His creations are fun to watch as each piece is created to interact with its surroundings making them stand out. He takes inspiration from old movies, cartoons, TV shows, and of course, retro videos games. Well, that part is clearly visible when you look at a few of his creations!

“A creation can take me 15 minutes or 2 weeks depending on the occasion. But I prefer stuff that's quick. I'd rather use as few pixels as possible than go big.” - said the artist to Bored Panda.

His stunning street art can be usually found on everyday objects - pipes, sculptures, streets, traffic signs and many more, and always with a vintage aesthetic. From Super Mario to Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons or Rambo, the art of Pappas Pärlor will appeal to fans of street art and retro video games. I have just realised on this pic that this art is made out of those beads you have to iron, and then they melt together. Wow!
