Pirate Printers: These Guys Use Urban Utility Covers To Print Bags And Shirts
Look around you. Art is everywhere if you want to find it. Take these pirate printers for example. Not only do they see the common and often overlooked beauty in our surroundings – they also preserve them in awesome designs that they print onto bags and shirts.
The art-collective behind Berlin-based Raubdruckerin (which means “pirate printer”) uses manhole covers, grids, vents and other public utilities to make unique patterns on clothes and accessories. And as you can see, the result is surprisingly eye-catching. They work on location, applying ink directly to whatever template they like the look of before selling their creations through their online shop where you can find designs from various cities including Amsterdam, Lisbon and Paris. Like what you see? Then click here for some beautiful manhole covers from Japan that would also make brilliant t-shirt designs. Are you listening pirates?

Share on FacebookWhat an old fart's opinion about Pokemon Go. Since I've started playing the game, I've seen more of Stockholm, it's art and met more of it's people than I ever would have. Show some curiosity for your friends' interests and listen to them instead of judging them blindly.
It looks cool and all, but, other than the sewer drain, they are actually just stealing someone else's art. If I designed the man holes, I be pretty angry.
I doubt that manhole covers have been copyrighted.

I neither play Pokemon nor find the game compelling, but why knee-jerkedly put "But you have to stop chasing Pokémon to notice it."? If people like it, do not judge them since by itself there is nothing wrong. It also is odd to have such a posting here after Bored Panda mentioned several positive side effects of this Pokemon Hype (think of the dog walking idea). And besides: while the shirts look cool, not everyone is into art and not everyone ought to see beauty in everyday objects.
Mentioning something immensely popular like Pokemon is just a marketing strategy, now when people search for Pokemon related articles they find this one as well although it has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I found some of the most interesting manhole covers in Tokyo. In the Kumkapi district of Istantbul, there are some pretty neat ones as well.
Brilliant, cool, and novel? So, take a look some years ago... Piotr C Kowalski and his "przechodnie" (homonyms for passer-by and pederastians)... image_i_d-...422599.jpg
