Pink Fan Enraged After Being Asked To Buy $120 Ticket For Newborn Baby To Attend Her Concert

A Pink fan was left flabbergasted when he was told his newborn baby, who was likely more interested in sleep than songs and milk over music, needed a full-price ticket to accompany his family to the award-winning star’s concert.

The anonymous ticket holder from Australia told 7NEWS that he and his extended family had booked tickets in 2023 to watch the pop star’s show at the Accor Stadium in Sydney’s Olympic Park on March 16. When they booked the tickets last year, they had no plans of taking a nine-week-old infant with them. But things changed, and the father decided to get in touch with the venue to ask whether they would be allowed to bring a nappy bag with them since only small bags were permitted.

“Can you tell me whether we will be allowed to bring a nappy bag? Also, just confirming she won’t need a ticket?” the man wrote to Accor Stadium in a message via Facebook Messenger.

“There is no issue bringing a nappy bag, but all attendees must have a ticket to enter, regardless of age,” the stadium said in their initial response.

The father went on to ask the stadium representative whether it was really necessary for an infant to have a $120 ticket.

“This is a sold-out event and a ticket for a nine-week-old that can’t see or even sit is required?” the father asked.

“That is correct and the age policy [is] set for this show by the promoter,” read the response.

The father, enraged by the stadium’s answer, decided to go to the media with his debacle.

“We found it disgraceful that a baby had to purchase a ticket when they were going to be in a baby carrier or on my sister’s chest,” the father told 7NEWS.

The stadium backtracked on its response after the incident gained media attention. Not only did Accor Stadium say they’re allowing the baby to accompany the family without any cost, but they also gave the family upgraded seats and parking closer to the venue.

While the father said the incident was a mistake, he noted that the stadium only resolved the issue after he went to the media. Nevertheless, it’s a “wonderful outcome,” the man said.

“They have moved my tickets closer to the event due to the issue and have given me closer parking too,” he noted.

Is it clever though to bring a newborn to a loud concert?

I skipped straight to the comments to say the same, this is an inappropriate place to bring a newborn. I was at a rock festival years ago and a couple had a small baby out in the heat and at least had ear protection on it, but I saw them approached by 2 officers - because wtf were you thinking?!?

Why is taking an infant to a concert being rewarded with extra privilege??? I would be furious if some jerk brought a baby and it sat anywhere near me because you know that baby would be crying the whole time.

My thoughts exactly! I LOVE live events but when my son was little we always got a sitter. I didn't take him to his first concert until he was about 12 years old.
