Physics Major Calculates How Hard You Have To Slap Chicken To Cook It And People React With Hilarious Memes
Who wouldn't want to cook delicious chicken breast in an easy and fast way without using a stove? Luckily, the internet sometimes comes up with the strangest solutions to problems we didn't know we had. So is there any other way to cook a chicken, we haven't tried yet? Apparently, some people suggest to slap it until it's done.
Thanks to subreddit r/NoStupidQuestions, which allows people to ask all kinds of questions, no matter how embarrassing it may be to do so, we have the answer. After one user asked, A physics major decided to some math and answer the questions can we, humans, cook a raw chicken breast by slapping it? Here's his calculation. Now we know that to cook chicken in one slap it would require the velocity of 3725.95mph, which is humanly impossible. However, people were not disappointed with the answer. Naturally, they reacted by turning this explanation into a viral meme. So next time you'll chicken slapping meme, you know who to thank - a friendly neighborhood physics major!

Not relevant, but this got me wondering what Eta Carinae was. According to Wikipedia, "Eta Carinae, formerly known as Eta Argus, is a stellar system containing at least two stars with a combined luminosity greater than five million times that of the Sun, located around 7,500 light-years distant in the constellation Carina."
Sends shivers down my spine, body's achin all the tiimme... *Coughs awkwardly*
i mean, a slap is more cost efficient than using an oven, so if you're broke, a slap can save you truckloads of money!
What I need to know now is: How long will it take to administer the amount of average slaps to cook the chicken. Because if it takes more time to cook-slap it than it takes for the raw chicken to decay, all this will be for nothing. Also, I need to know when to start slapping the chicken so it's ready when the guests arrive.
Does no one see the corollary? The slap is a two-way process and your hand is also gonna be well-done! 😱 😜
I feel like the physic's major failed to account for thermal losses to the room. you would definitely need to increase the total number of slaps to account for thermal losses if the heat exchange from the chicken is significant. and it probably is more significant than the heat gain from the slapping.
average hand weights 0,4kg? My hand is only a bit bigger than average and it weights way more (4kg of meat has lower density than my hand since there is less bones inside and in size it's pretty same) so I only need 4/0.4=10 less slaps or slower slap..... going to practice then
A potential howtobasic video. Also, now that you mention it, scientists and engineers will probably find out how to make a machine that will gain up enough velocity to cook a chicken with just one slap.
naw. engineers would use a vibration table so the slaps happen faster. Engineers recognize that slapping a chicken that fast would probably destroy the chicken.
