Photography Coach, Missy Mwac, has taken Portrait Photography in a new direction with her Fine Art Series: Emotion in Motion-a style that relies not on exposure or focus, but just feeling something really strongly and then taking a picture.
“I think we get really caught up in the idea that images have to be exposed properly and posed correctly. As artists, we don’t need to focus on that. Actually, we don’t need to focus at all. My work combines the elements of color, light and shadow and blurs them into an idea of the heart and mind.”
When asked how she came up with the Emotion in Motion idea, she explains: “I had a really hard time with exposure and getting things in focus. My clients were always complaining, but the funny thing was, I always got tons of “likes’ on Facebook. So, I took what I had been doing and just gave it a name. And charged a little more for it. Now, it’s Fine Art.”
Missy explained that she views each Emotion in Motion session like the wheel on Wheel of Fortune. “I simply turn dials on the camera for a few seconds, just like a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, and wherever the settings land is where I shoot. I always think about my Passion while I”m doing it, though. I think that’s the most important element.”
Missy is thrilled she has been self-published on Bored Panda and thanks herself for the incredible honor.
Missy’s work has also been featured extensively on Facebook and Instagram.
