Photographing The Cranes Migration

A few years ago when I was studying photography I wanted to document the power of the nature and one of the most special experiences in Israel is to watch the huge numbers of cranes that land at hula valley at the winter, to rest and refill their energy to continue migrating to Africa. At the same time, they must be denied a long-term stay by controlling their food sources.

Because of the huge number of the cranes (about 40,000), the Hula Reserve started a feeding Project that aims: to prevent damage to agricultural fields and reduce the amount of crane wintering in Israel, while protecting natural assets (- with no physical harm to the cranes).

Between Wisconsin & here in Tennessee I have gone to see the Sandhill cranes. They have a wingspan of 7-8 feet , climb to 5,000 feet, &, as a group, you can hear them coming from quite a ways away. Your photos are magnificent!
