Honestly, you have every right to think that way, since Islamic governments are not spreading the true image of Islam and most Muslims don't even believe in them being rightful. And the media (doing their job) are consequently presenting the false image as the representation of Islam. please don't confuse the true Islam with the version you see from the countries and the media. Regarding women's rights, Muslims are THE ONLY GROUP who have required actual verbal consent from women before being able to even lay a finger on them; or have treated colored people as equals as others (believing in no difference among humanity in terms of race or gender) for more than 1400 years, where other human beings treated women and the colored as slaves until even the past 100-200 years. Even in these years, they are under various pressures, even in the modern liberal countries. These are the things no one knows about, and you have every right to think that way.

You're comparing religion to politics here. That's not something that can be done. The issue isn't the religion, the issue is the politicians using the religion to make laws. Ideally the world should be governed independently from religion.

Wrong. Christianity is one of the most intolerant religions. Why do you think it took so long for gay marriage to be legal in the US? Why do Republicans want to challenge Roe v Wade? Why does the US allow "churches" to operate tax free when they are a trillion dollar industry that can fund health care for the poor? Christianity is the most hypocritical religion in my opinion. I think every religion could be modern and liberal and vice versa. Look at christianity in Poland, Russia and the US. There are some of the craziest fanatics there. Have you ever heard of conversion camps for gays in a Muslim country? I haven't. But I have heard of them in the US. And parents disowning their children because they are gay? USA. Discriminating woman, giving them the fault if they are raped? Still USA. Massive racism against anyone that is not white and especially black? USA. Literally, you just proved the point of the post: Muslims and Islam are misunderstood and misrepresented by governments of Islamic countries who warped the Kuran to benefit their own interests and suppress its people!! But don’t forget the US is trying to govern over women’s bodies, as is Hungary and a bunch of other very Christian/catholic countries. If you think Muslims are intolerant then you have not lived in the American South. People are pretty much alike regardless of religion and the "Christian" religion has plenty of intolerant and hate-filled people. Just check out some of the politicians elected and the laws passed in the U. S. lately.

As a Muslim I'll say this, You're not wrong, but you're just uneducated enough about what Islam really teaches. People from all walks of life and faiths convert/revert to Islam till today. despite all that you said. Islam is still the fastest growing religion in the world. And believe it or not, more women become Muslim than men. What does that tell you? Were they forced to convert? No. Islam is the actual religion that liberated women 1400 years ago when they were sold as slaves and treated like objects. Islam gave women equal rights to men. you just need to educate yourself more on what Islam really teaches VS what the west says about Islam or what some Muslim countries do - which is more politically/culturally driven than Islamic. Prophet Muhammad taught/advised and practiced tolerance to everyone, wether enemy or from different faith. If you study the life of Prophet Muhammad sincerely you'll be amazed by his character, morality, wisdom and mercy he showed to everyone.
