Chances are, you’ve got some unpopular opinions that you usually keep to yourself. Perhaps you love pineapple on pizza, or maybe you find chocolate to be repulsive. When I was in college, I was terrified to tell my friends that I had absolutely no interest in ever watching films or reading books about Harry Potter… And I was always thrilled when we’d get blessed with a gray and dreary day.

We’re not always willing to share these hot takes out loud, but it’s a bit easier to open up to strangers on the internet. Mumsnet users have recently been admitting their most controversial takes, so we’ve gathered the juiciest ones below. Enjoy scrolling through this list that you might find incredibly frustrating, and be sure to upvote the secret opinions that you actually agree with!

We paid less than 200$ including rings. We had McDonald's that day, we spent our money on a home and new vehicle. I ended up getting the ring I loved 2 years later from a pawnshop for a fraction of the price. Weddings are so expensive and pointless.

30 Hot Takes People Wouldn’t Dare To Admit In Person Sports. Particularly the big money making machine types. I don't understand why it's not more of a niche interest.

There was a meme or similar a good few years ago and it was basically, imagine if sports coverage was dedicated to archaeology, hourly news bulletins, sections of newspapers, endless coverage on TV, huge stars. Breaking news, star archaeologist Dr Richard Brown has signed a new contract to begin working in Corfu. And then everyone phoning in a radio show to discuss why he should dig somewhere else, people really upset because they were hoping he would dig at a place they preferred, live coverage of the ground being broken at the excavation site, with commentary and discussion from retired archaeologists.

I'd be interested to learn what percentage of US military were from low socio-economic status and/or extremely dysfunctional homes and felt enlisting was their only hope for stability, safety, healthcare, community, education - a future.

I'd much prefer this option than corporations seeking donations. Not only do you NOT get the benefit of the tax deduction but the multimillion corporation does. They dont set up charity schemes out of the goodness of their hearts - they are just minimizing their tax obligations. DONT donate to corporate charity schemes! Donate directly to the charity.

What one does to themselves, is probably for themselves, and not you. Some people get procedures because of a disfigurement, disorder, to fix another procedure. Like, imagine getting a masectomy because of breast cancer, and feeling so self-conscious it's all you can think about. So you go to the plastic surgeon to get breast enhancements. Then after people ripping you apart because they don't like seeing how unnatural your new figure looks.

I agree. They are not talking about dogs - they are talking about irresponsible dog owners who leave dog poo all over the street, on the sidewalk and in the parks. I love dogs and I was a dog owner until she passed away. I also have children who play and wrestle and fall over and pick things up and put them in their pockets. Public spaces are exactly that - for the enjoyment of the public and I can't let my kids play in the local park because there is dog shite everywhere. Our neighbors let their dog s**t on the sidewalk every day and we have to smell it and dodge it on the walk to school. You wouldn't appreciate me letting my kid p**s in park or poo on the grass and then just leaving it there. Your dog = your s**t. Clean it up.

I like London as a place to visit. I didn't much like living there. The Tube is so filthy it turned my snot black and made me sick all the time. I love the Indian food and the English do a good pub meal, but the lack of variety and quality of fresh produce is disappointing. For the 6 weeks a year the sun turns on its charm, London is amazing! People are friendly and happy and bright. The rest of the year not so much. There is a great culture and music scene but realistically - you can find that anywhere else. All in all, London is an amazing city. Head out there late spring, eat some curries, visit some bands, listen to music, enjoy the local pub, catch some amazing festivals and do all the things that float your boat, but take the bus or walk as much as possible and leave before the summer ends.

I only have two, though I still want more, and each one (even the ones I don't have) serve a meaning in my life. The one on my arm was for graduating BMT, the one on my chest was my first duty station along with starting my family.

It's okay that you don't understand. Nobody's trying to give you a tattoo. I don't understand how someone doesn't know themselves enough to realize what's permanent and what's fleeting in their tastes.

This one is summed up in the first sentence. Yes, you don't understand why someone would have a design on their body. The way you ease that lack of understanding is by talking to people who have tattoos or someone who works as a tattoo artist. They can answer all of your questions, but mostly the answer is "I don't think the way you do" which is probably why they have tattoos and you don't.

I am not personally a fan of tattoos (for me) but I've seen some really pretty ones. I have a long time friend who has tattoo sleeves and a lot of ink on her chest largely because she has sun allergies and they help protect her skin from the UV. On a hot day you don't always want to wear long sleeves.

I have been tempted (countless times) to have some whimsical designs based on interests and just because I thought 'that looks good', but I have always refrained. But if you wanna go head to toe in Sponge Bob designs, go for it.

As women, we need to take greater responsibility for ourselves and our choices. And it’s not ‘victim blaming‘ to say that. We can’t control what others do, only what we do.

Post after post about women marrying and having children with useless men who were always useless complaining about it. I don’t feel a drop of sympathy.

Sexism at it's best. Why the need to undervalue fathers? A mother can be selfish, d**g addict, lazy, mentally unstable etc. where the father can be healthy just as it can be the other way around. A mother can be just as cruel as a father can be. Or a Father can be just as caring as a mother can be. Generalizations are horrible for most things. For myself, my ex did not even held my kids for weeks. Did not feed them. Did not care for them. I did all of that. I've made their breakfast when they were going to school. I've dressed them. I've changed their diapers when they were babies, while my ex was off smoking and drinking and being her bipolar unhinged self. So, personally, f you to this statement.

Causes of homeless families ranked: #1 Insufficient income and lack of affordable housing; #2 Unemployment / loss of job; #3 Poverty (Extremely Low Income - 75% of which have less than half their income remaining after paying for housing to cover all other expenses);. Causes of homeless individuals ranked - same, plus #4 mental illness. It's easier to believe that it's their own fault, but that's the reality according to the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty.
