first time I ever heard about a gender reveal party I thought it was some sort of coming out party for trans people

We paid less than 200$ including rings. We had McDonald's that day, we spent our money on a home and new vehicle. I ended up getting the ring I loved 2 years later from a pawnshop for a fraction of the price. Weddings are so expensive and pointless.

The ugly aspect of those donations made in stores etc. is that those stores get to claim the deductions for YOUR donations made there. Absolutely despicable.

I tried going vegan for a couple months. I found it to be SO expensive to try to keep up with the demands for extra supplements and finding foods filling enough to feel full and satisfied. I got tired of beans and nuts real quick.

I carefully researched nutrition and had blood tests so that I can correct any low hemoglobin levels and other deficiencies before going vegan. A couple of years ago, during a doctor's visit, the doctor asked about my diet and said that my diet was well composed and balanced, and since I had already been a vegan for a long time, he wanted to check the b12 and ferritin level (probably included vitamin d). I have regular blood tests because my medication may affect the liver. I took an iron supplement after that (menstruation lowers iron) but everything else was fine. I'm actually less often sick, and usually when a flu makes everyone sick in the work community, I don't catch it. A healthy lifestyle is protective, but I suspect it is partly genetic. My husband is a vegetarian and his flu may not catch me. By the way, unbiased studies unequivocally link red meat and intestinal cancer to each other, so what about the health of omnivores?

How do you know when someone is vegan? Because they will ALWAYS tell you, multiple times.

I am not vege and never will, BUT I know few and you need no suplements or anything extra. You just need to eat smart. Nothing hard. No frequent illness etc.

It's bad for your health if you don't research how to do it. I know plenty of vegans who went into it very slowly, and only went full vegan when they knew how to supplement the nutrition they were leaving out by not eating dairy/meat etc.

THIS! Humans are evolved to be omnivores. A true nutritional fact is meat provides us with all of our amino acids needed to remain healthy. When you do not complete the chain of aminos, your body will dispose of the incomplete chains. It's like not completing the puzzle, but because you don't have the pieces, so it's trash. For vegan/vegetarian diets to work, you need to FILL YOUR PLATE with all the colors.

i don't understand how vegans can say that veganism saves animals from harm. 63% of all animals, not including humans, eat meat to survive.

I was lacto-ovo-pescatarian for two years for those who know what that means. I haven’t felt weaker, been sicker, and had less energy than the two years I spent eating meat substitutes and potatoes. Plant based diets can be done very well, and if done correctly, they are more environmentally sound and healthier. But many people, including myself, aren’t able to sustain that type of lifestyle long term. Edit: spelling

Agree, does not make you a hero. There are plenty of military personnel that are terrible people. Disagree that it's entirely a choice. I'd be interested to learn what percentage of US military were from low socio-economic status and/or extremely dysfunctional homes and felt enlisting was their only hope for stability, safety, healthcare, community, education - a future.

For me it's folks who post happy birthday wishes to a celebrity who is never, ever going to see it. Especially if the celebrity is dead. I just don't see the point.

I'd much prefer this option than corporations seeking donations. Not only do you NOT get the benefit of the tax deduction but the multimillion corporation does. They dont set up charity schemes out of the goodness of their hearts - they are just minimizing their tax obligations. DONT donate to corporate charity schemes! Donate directly to the charity.

I'm not British, so maybe that's why I can't fully understand the hype behind the family. Especially Diana. She's been gone since 1997 and people are still writing books and making films about her. I have nothing against her at all, but why?

What one does to themselves, is probably for themselves, and not you. Some people get procedures because of a disfigurement, disorder, to fix another procedure. Like, imagine getting a masectomy because of breast cancer, and feeling so self-conscious it's all you can think about. So you go to the plastic surgeon to get breast enhancements. Then after people ripping you apart because they don't like seeing how unnatural your new figure looks.

I agree. They are not talking about dogs - they are talking about irresponsible dog owners who leave dog poo all over the street, on the sidewalk and in the parks. I love dogs and I was a dog owner until she passed away. I also have children who play and wrestle and fall over and pick things up and put them in their pockets. Public spaces are exactly that - for the enjoyment of the public and I can't let my kids play in the local park because there is dog shite everywhere. Our neighbors let their dog s**t on the sidewalk every day and we have to smell it and dodge it on the walk to school. You wouldn't appreciate me letting my kid p**s in park or poo on the grass and then just leaving it there. Your dog = your s**t. Clean it up.

Ah, my pet peeve! "That's just who she/he/it is" is often claimed to justify s****y behaviour. Maybe it is who you are, but not everything that goes on in your head should come out through your mouth.
