While in these uncertain times, many employees hold onto their workplaces tighter than ever, others are somewhat more relaxed. And if you ask me whether it’s possible to loosen up a little too much when it comes to your job, the answer is yes.
For many unknown, illogical and often plain dumb reasons, some employees have earned themselves a solid “you’re fired!” badge. In fact, there’s a whole corner of Reddit with a cheeky name “Bye, Bye Job” that’s dedicated to sharing “images or stories of people losing their job, a scholarship/admission, or another kind of opportunity due to their actions online or in person.”

It’s fair to say that most of these career faux pas shared in this post are somewhat on the extreme side. From extremely rude messages to inappropriate comments shared out in public, these behaviors are the straight way to getting fired, and there’s little doubt about that. At least they don’t happen that often and when they do, they end up stirring things up quite a bit in forums and online threads.
But there are so many more less extreme and more standard ways to fail at work. From letting your team down to screwing things up on a deadline, even the best worker wasn’t born immune to failure. But for many devoted workers, such experiences may end up ruining their self-esteem and professional motivation. So how to lift yourself up when things went down the drain at work?

Reframe it in your mind, don’t tell yourself you are a failure—say to yourself, I’ve had a setback and I’m moving forward, I can learn from this—something more positive,” she said.

Even though failures at work are particularly painful and hard to heal from, they happen more often than we’d think. Nearly every client that Sarah talks to is going through a challenge and they always learn. “That’s part of my role—to help them to understand any repeating patterns or behaviors that may be holding them back,” she said.
“When we fail, and learn and acquire new skills, or grow from it, we develop a steeliness,” Sarah said and added that it’s “a resilience so sometimes the more challenges we have, the more we can overcome situations that would ‘floor’ some people.” According to her, many extremely successful people had several attempts at what they were trying to achieve before they got there.

So sorry that he can't accept responsibility for being a douchebag towards his kids and family, that he had to look someone up on the DL on Facebook and add her as a friend. Without knowing her personally and abusing her privileged Information that he only had access to due to his job position. Knowing that he was fully aware that the Hipaa act meant that he shouldn't contact her in that manner. And that's why he was fired.

This doesn't seem at all justified...he is a contract musician--as I, now retired--who is doing a job....his views do not justify firing from a long-time, popular entertainment venue....plus, they were PLANS to perform, not an anti-vax statement in itself.....not well done....and I find anti-vaxxers baffling in their lack of awareness about so many things....

The absolute irony of the right trying to claim victimhood all the while being the bully is astounding. What they need to understand is 1) your right to be a racist doesn't make you immune to the consequences of being a racist. People are smarter now. That crap that your skin color makes you somehow better doesn't fly anymore with most people 2) Your ill-advised choice to not get vaccinated makes you a threat to those around you. You are literally killing innocent people which makes you, at best, the equivalent of a nazi sympathizer. You don't get a pass just because you're ignorant. 3) That thing you think you are standing up for is something that hurts others.
