Having a terrible day at work can be frustrating, overwhelming, and even demoralizing. Whether it's a challenging project, an annoying colleague, or just a series of misfortunes, sadly, there are plenty of reasons you might feel like you're a failure.
But as Sigrid and Bring Me The Horizon sang, "It's just a bad day / Not a bad life." And one of the ways to recover is by venting online. So we at Bored Panda decided to remind ourselves that the universe hasn't conspired against any of us. From time to time, everyone runs into some (undeserved) adversity.

I've lost my faith in humanity. What we do defines us and this is what we do. We are not stewards of the land or caretakers. We are a blight. We are just vultures picking at the carcass of a dying world.
I Work As A Valet And Make $3.85/Hour And I Received This As A Tip
These are in fact pretty common, most often being used as "tips" by certain groups of "Christians". ( I use the scare quotes because, while these people will tell you they are Christians [ loudly and often ], their behavior usually demonstrates few if any of the principles Jesus advocated for. )
Load More Replies...I would donate them to the churches charity box! Hopefully then they'd see how annoying and nasty they are!?
We had been at our church for 18 years and hosted a summer Bible study. One week the group leader devoted the entire time to what I call ambush techniques. Hand a homeless man a $100 bill. When he looks at it and sees it’s not real but a Bible verse, now he’s engaged with you and ready to listen! My husband and I thought, yeah by justifiably punching you in the neck. We switched churches after that. Talk about directly violating more than a few unambiguous verses.
I had the misfortune of being a Mormon missionary. My leader was upset that we weren't converting "high quality" people (a.k.a. white collar executive types like himself). So his idea was that we 19-21-year olds should show up unannounced at offices and tell the receptionist we had critical information about the wellbeing of the top guy's family (a man whose name we probably wouldn't know). In the deluded mind of my leader, the boss would be so concerned something happened or would happen to them that he'd be anxious to learn what we had to say. Our message was supposed to be that he and his family risked not spending eternity in Heaven. I was a fairly ignorant kid, but even I knew such fakery would not be well received. [Fast forward a few years and our leader was convicted of fraud and absconding with clients' money.]
Load More Replies...It makes me wonder if that could be classed as a form of counterfeit too… XD
Load More Replies...I find these extremely distasteful and would have a completely negative reaction.
I used to get these as a waitress in college. The restaurant would ban people who tried to peddle anything.
That's terrible. While I always enjoy reading philosophy or a message from the Lord, disguising it as money is appalling.
Load More Replies...This makes me so mad as a Christian. Give the fake 5 if thats your thing, sure. But how about you do it inside an awesome tip because theres no way any server is thinking, hmmmm, Jesus must be the best after this
I wanted to upvote this times 100! You SO nailed it!
Load More Replies...I got one of these but it was a 20. I put it in their donation box.
I remember a story about an atheist who left an atheist version of this in a churches tip jar
Disappointed? Yes I'm disappointed carol I'm making 3 dollars a hour and your giving me monopoly money
I hate this. But it has an accidental truth that all Christians have to come to deal with: Christ won't let you down, but Christians (and anyone else) will if you confuse them with Jesus. "There is no just man upon earth that doth good and sinneth not" isn't cynicism; it's the Word of God. But purposely letting people down makes damned poor evangelization.
This christian group has to rethink the design. The United SS of America? Really?
Used to be friends with a girl from a very religious family. Her dad told her when we went to eat at a restaurant that she didn't need to tip because "we were kids.". I always left extra money for the waitress. Her family was loaded. I learned right there and then that some, not all, are stingy. The rest of our group was average middle class family and were taught when and how much to tip. There was a bookcase next to our front door and there was a lidded trinket dish. My mom kept several $1 bills and a bunch of random change. If someone delivered something, (my mom had our prescriptions delivered), we tipped the delivery driver. Flower guy delivered flowers, tip the guy . . . I have the same in my house. And I have a cooler built in on the front porch and stock it with water, juice and soda and have another box with some single serve snacks. For delivery people, gardener etc. It gets really hot where I live, they need the sustenance!
I got one of these when I was waiting tables at 18. I needed groceries at the time, and this really put a sour taste in my mouth.
When I worked at walmart Christians left these notes all over the store for months. Thanks for leaving your junk that I had to clean up.
Anyone who shoves religion down other peoples throats is a moron. P.S - how do they know theyve picked the right god / gods
I totally agree with the moron statement! But I don't know how people know they've picked the right god/ gods. I think it's more of they just believe in it and it makes sense to them. I tried to ask that question in a church once and the lady shushed me and made me feel really bad. I was a *child*. Let's say I'm not Christian anymore. I think if someone finds the right religion or lack there of it just clicks in their head.
Load More Replies...As a Christian, I can't even begin to express how inappropriate this "tip" is. Spread the word in a loving, kind way. Don't Spread the word in such a way that leaves a person feeling resentful. I'm guessing the person who is passing these out has no idea what it means to be hungry or to be humble! Makes me wonder if this person actually wants people to hate Christianity.my church would never condone this!
There are over 87 verses in the Bible regarding humility but many Christians these days have no idea whatsoever what they are, or that Pride is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. SMH at arrogant nonsense like this.
Load More Replies...Ugh people who give fake money as tips should be punched in the face. Your god won't pay people's bills, twats!
The giver of this does need to repent, and also rethink what Christianity teaches.
The worst part about being a waitress on a Sunday... oddly enough, my landlord refused to take tiny bibles or pamphlets in exchange for rent.
People like this disgust me! Would Jesus actually approve? I think not.
Jesus fought against hypocrisy. He would never condone this bull c**p.
Load More Replies...Misdirected Christians misrepresenting Christianity. Sorry to those affected.
Smug a******s like Trump, who assumes they're above all others and can treat the world as peasants!
The one thing Jesus would NOT be if he came back tomorrow would be a "Christian".
my dad loves to say if you went back in time and asked Jesus what his religion was, he'd tell you he's Jewish... just something a little silly you reminded me of, but I get what you mean! if anything, a modern day Jesus would be called woke and despised by these so-called "Christians"
Load More Replies...That just makes Christians look bad and I hate it. Someone is feeling all smug because they spread the Gospel and all they did was cheat someone out of an actual tip. Shame on whoever did this.
Even I, a Christian, think this is messed up. If you're going to give someone something like this, leave a good tip with it??
Wow! What a punch in the face... Hope this guy got much better tips that day
haha imagine the pastor getting the tithe bowl back and its filled with these
"Christians" spreading the @good word" as usual. I absolutely loathe these people.
I hated getting those as tips when I waited tables. Especially if it was a large church group of like 8 or more.
These are the kinds of people that present Christianity as obnoxious and scary.
The fact they folded it up to make it look real........ generally, the uber religious are utter c**ts.
I somehow imagine Jesus would prefer them give a proper tip and a kind word
That is rude. As a Christian I would think that people would know better.
It's great to try and spread the message of The Lord. But to stiff a hardworking person who works for 98% of their salary as tips.
That is not a technique Jesus' would approve of for sharing the Gospel
It is said that Jesus, with sadness, lets us make our own blunders ...
As a Christian, this makes me very sad. It's obviously putting people off the truth of the Gospel, and devaluing what (we believe) Jesus has done for us and for anyone who puts their trust in him. I imagine it does more harm than good, because it would put you off anything to do with Christianity.
And Churches can Afford to Print out this C**p But Not Pay their Own Way!!!?? Boy how I Pray they All get Taxed the Value of the Supreme Lands they Build their Cult Villas on!!!
Of all the God fearing churches I've been I've never seen these. I do know that you can buy these online and in Christian bookstores.
Load More Replies...You should heed what is on the paper. But I also think he or she should have given you a money.
I am a Christian, I think it is despicable and not something a real Christian would do.
WTF there still bigoted idiots in society who can't see what was wrong with this. Makes me sick.
I'm a Christian and NOPE. Just, no. Who makes these?? Is it legal?? How??? No.....
You should be paid a decent wage and not have to rely on tips. This is so archaic. My dad had a gig at an exclusive hotel and they did tips. This was 1941. Time for a change, so to speak.
Maybe it would work better if they gave one fake note with about ten real ones.
I need to start thinking of funny atheist gag stickers to give back to them when they do s**t like this.
I HATE these. Nobody wins. Server screwed out of tip. Christianity gets a black eye for looking like douchebags.
Close. So-called Christians get a black eye for BEING douchebags, plus Christianity gets a black eye for douchebags who like to pretend that they are Christian. I can only hope that these arseholes get what they deserve when attempting to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Load More Replies...Worked as a waiter at an upscale Mexican restaurant in Atlanta years ago and Sundays were the worst because of the nasty, entitled "christian" church crowd. Rude, demanding, and LOUSY tippers.
"The United SS of America"? I wouldn't want to be affiliated with that even in the slightest....😳
It's meant to be folded and only look real when folded, hence the incomplete text
Load More Replies...This is wrong in so many ways! I'm not gonna quote actual verse, but anyone who claims to be a follower of Christ should be following as it says. Part of tithing IS paying a person who is working for you a fair and just wage! A server is serving YOU and everyone in the US knows they are underpaid by a long shot. And that goes for any tip job thats not adiquitly paid. This is one of many reasons I abandoned christianity and converted to Gnostic... not to be confused with Agnostic. And follow the Ethiopian bible, that man has not added or removed from. Don't do people s****y, because Karmatic justice is God's way of justice on earth while in human form. But if you bless people he will return those blessings 10 fold. As long as its done for the right reasons. Just be good people. I know it's hard to ask in this day and age, but still.
$3.85 ph... what's minimum wage in the States, or does it vary between States? (Genuinely curious, not being frivolous)
Minimum wage unfortunately doesn't count when you can be labeled as a 'server', so your employer docks your pay because you're getting tips (or are supposed to be, anyway)
Load More Replies...United SS of America? Also five llars? Also Christian and I think that's mean.
I mean like Jesus wants you to know Him more , its not bad luck at all

that was literally me until I started dating an actual christian and came to realize that not every christian is this kind of narcissistic, inconsiderate, scummy type of person. I'm still never gonna believe, but he respects that like a normal person and doesn't proselytize to me and tell me I'm gonna burn in hell like oh so many "christians" said to my mom when I was young
Load More Replies...That is utterly DISGUSTING. That is NOT a tip; that is an indictment on the person 'giving' it to you. If they were TRUE Christians, they would have given you five dollars as well as the blurb.
I'd have either told him to shove it up his a*s, or donated it to a church charity box.
Honestly, this kind of thing brings out an unreasonable rage in me that makes me want to go Sherlock Holmes and dust for prints and get DNA to find out who this person is. Then do something incredibly petty to them in revenge.
If the people giving these out are doing the lord's work, then Jesus did indeed let them down.
This is wrong in so many ways, this is pure deception, a hussle really.
/hustle/... The moment I clicked send I knew I has spelled it wrong.

Unfortunately, in the midst of hurt, you’ve been lead to mix up Jesus and the results of sin/evil in our world. Jesus knows this world is hard. He states it directly. He came into it and experienced it. Trust He knows. He gives us a hope beyond this world though. He has overcome this. You can too. He wants to accompany you. Go ahead and down vote but this comes from a place of care.
Load More Replies...This isn't missionizing. It's using fake money to sneak in a message people don't, at that moment, want to hear. People who do this are doing the exact opposite of Evangelical work - they are driving people away. "Here's a dollar my hard working friend - psych! Hey read this fun pamphlet about Christ, instead!" Jesus didn't give out fake food and neither should they!
Load More Replies...Booooooo! Religion does not pay the bills. I'll bet Jesus would have tipped.
I would like to find the person responsible for this concept, and make sure this is what they get paid in for the rest of their miserable lives...
If that doesn't put you off Christianity, you can't say they didn't try!
typical religious fanatic at work...Anything OK if you are doing God's work!
I would honestly call the cops and say "they tried to pay with counterfeit money"
Mean spirited and just plain old cheap. Jesus’s reply would hopefully be, why are you so cheap?this yog person busted their tails serving you, and you couldn’t be bothered To even spare a dime, let alone what they deserved! Do you thing our Lord is cheap with his love and blessings? Do you even know if this young person is full of faith and hope? Are you so miserly, that when someone you don’t know, is kind, helpful, and makes sure you are served happily, that you want to push YOUR view of the love of God, down their throats, with a piece of paper saying love Jesus? God loves us all, but you, my child, have not grown up with God, you grew up with selfishness of spirit and the belief that your money is more important than the true love, of Jesus.
I am aChristian, and ive seen fifties of this, my lord bro stop with the ACTUAL TRACT BILLS
I'm sure this was said before, but...........................that's so wrong.
Why would you take a job that only pays $3.85/hr? Making your employees depend on tips for a living wage is only something that happens in a country where workers have no rights.
Sure god gives us all that stuff but he can also take stuff like disappointment
So sorry someone proselytized you instead of tipping you real money which you deserved.
The more they talk Christian, the faster they will knife you in the back.
as a Christian kid, I'm not sure whether to swear, scream or cry.
What the f**k? Why do people think this is okay? Couldn't people say this is fraud or something along those lines? What the f**k is wrong with people...
Go for the long con. Find out where they go, get a LOAD of those fake notes, visit their church at the busiest Sunday and, when they pass the plate, make a HUGE deal of rising up, clearly pointing them out and telling everyone you are gonna donate the tips you and other servers in town had collectively gathered from them to the church. Watch them dance and speak "in tongues" as you drop roll of "money" after the roll of "money" into the plate. Leave and let the folks you pointed out explain to their priest wtf was that.
I spent a few years homeless & panhandling, got a LOT of those. Like dude I need a new sleeping bag, it's almost winter. Jesus didn't keep me warm LAST year, a down bag made for the Arctic did--and Jesus didn't help when that was stolen by a crackhead, either. He's a terrible road dog.
Saying this as a Christian. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL? KInda reminds me of how the Spanish, while discovering America, took everyone captive, stole, gave them diseases, and then forced them to believe in Jesus. Be cristian, don't force people with five dollar bills!!!!
This is as bad as the waitresses I've read who were getting Trump Bills as tips for they looked like $20 or $100 bills on the outside.
How is this legal?? As a christian this is honestly disgusting behaviour
I'd slide that in with an actual tip. Just handing that seems cruel. Like I get wanting to pass on the word of God but this is the wrong way. I actually think those were made for placing around places and even the ground for people to find.
What the F**K? I say donate it back to the church, maybe then they'll hand these out less
All of Christianity in a nutshell. Some truth around the edges, Mostly a cruel joke.
I had to convert to euro's to check, but that's less than one third of minimum wage! That's illegal!
Should have given a real five with the religious tract. That would be the Christian thing to do.🎚️❤️Norma Jean Morrissey
Collect them, and put them.in the nearest church's donation box. And light a candle, you paid for it.
These would be a$$holes who call themselves christian. Without using actual money for tipping, seriously? You might as well not tip.
I'm also an unlucky recipient of such currency. Only I was 20 x more disappointed as it was $100 bill.
If you are a Christian, then as an atheist, I am going to hell. Although I'm not sure if it is in the bible, but that seems to be the consensus. So these people want to save your eternal soul, which they may truly believe they can. In which case, if true, that is pretty nice of them. If other Christians think you are going to hell, but don't say anything to you, then they essentially don't care if you are going to hell. I think it is very wrong to impose on others, but I had been thinking about this a while ago and it's kinda true no? But then it's usual to pick and choose what outdated and poorly recorded biblical 'rules' they choose to observe. Total asshat behaviour. I've heard of this in restaurants, or a note about something they think you need to improve on that is usually nothing you have power over like being out of steak. I hope otherwise people are more thoughtful and generous. With money, not proselytisation.
If you EVER get the chance to park it again, and I sincerely hope you do, fart in it, as many times as you can.
That's "christianity" for you. They WILL receive just rewards for their charity & kindness.
Used to get these as a server a lot. Haaaaaate. Jesus ain't paying my electric bill, you cheapskates.
The best tip of your life, brother! Salvation and eternal life can be yours! 😂
Which "Christian" organization(s) distribute these? Does anyone know please? What heartless and destructive people they must be to distribute such deception in our Lord's name! As a Christian, I'm....speechless!
What a sad state of affairs!! I'll just bet that person would be insulted to receive that "tip".
This could be counterfeit, legally, not that certain "Christians" would be bothered by the fact.
Cheap $#@$% I live in the Bible Belt and this happens all the time. We have multiple servers in our family and Sundays when it's busy is the most common time to get these.
People who do this are the scum of the earth and everyone should call them out. also go to the nearest Christian church and leave it on the floor.
America is weird! You should earn a living wage and not rely on tips. Relying on tips turns you into a slave.
I have seen worse at least it isn't a fire and dam nation speech but I would still give out money with it it is a way to tell someone about your faith and if you don't like it you just throw it out. Its better than someone talking to you less invasive
This is a common trick to entice folks to pick up ads thinking they have found money.
I am a Christian and used to carry $1,000,000 bills like that but I always try to tip decently. I also carried "Get out of hell free" cards.
I wonder how many times they made the mistake of giving this "tip" before they got their car back. I'm guessing just once...
Why is anyone allowed to offer a job at $3.85 US per hour? If patrons need their car moved, charge for it and then pay the employee a living wage. Few things ruin a nice evening out more than the constant questioning and wondering what is an adequate tip, interrupting of conversations to deal with it and having to carry around so much cash on hand. This way the employee is assured of a steady, viable income, the customers can enjoy themselves mores and all appropriate income taxes are paid. In addition, these sums go towards insurable earnings in the event the employee requires unemployment insurance if laid off through no fault of their own.
To all the "zealots" thinking this is evangelism. Pull your heads out of the cranial rectal inversion. Your tiny brain is starving for oxygen.
What if you are at the pearly gates someday and St. Peter asks you “Why are you here?” And you say, “I don’t know, some guy gave me this fake fiver” And St. Peter says, “Oh, I see you have your ticket, come on in!”
"Not all Christians!" is the same as "not all men" or saying that they aren't christians, they are, its their religion, instead of saying excuses, help other Christians be better!
You're so lucky to have received information on a god, instead of real money.
Insensitive, cruel, and mean spirited... but totally Christian behavior.

According to Annie McKee, Ph.D., who is a best-selling business book author and advisor to top global leaders, from CEOs of Fortune 500 companies to government officials, those who are engaged with their jobs and colleagues work harder — and smarter. But that's quite rare.
"Far too many couldn’t care less about what’s happening around them," McKee wrote in Harvard Business Review. "For them, Wednesday is 'hump day' and they’re just working to get to Friday. And then there’s the other end of the bell curve — that nearly one out of five employees is actively disengaged. These people are sabotaging projects, backstabbing colleagues, and generally wreaking havoc in their workplaces."

"Disengaged, unhappy people aren’t any fun to work with, don’t add much value, and impact our organizations (and our economy) in profoundly negative ways," McKee explained.
"It’s even worse when leaders are disengaged because they infect others with their attitude. Their emotions and mindset impact others’ moods and performance tremendously. After all, how we feel is linked to what and how we think. In other words, thought influences emotion, and emotion influences thinking."

McKee thinks it’s time to finally blow up the myth that feelings don’t matter at work.
"Science is on our side: there are clear neurological links between feelings, thoughts, and actions. When we are in the grip of strong negative emotions, it’s like having blinders on," she said. "We focus mostly — sometimes only — on the source of the pain. We don’t process information as well, think creatively, or make good decisions. Frustration, anger, and stress cause an important part of us to shut down —the thinking, engaged part. Disengagement is a natural neurological and psychological response to pervasive negative emotions."

However, it’s not just negative emotions we need to watch out for. "Extremely strong positive emotions have the same effect," McKee said.
"Some studies show that too much happiness can make you less creative and prone to engage in riskier behaviors (think about how we act like fools when we fall in love!). On the work front: I’ve seen groups of people worked up into a frenzy at sales conferences and corporate pep rallies. Little learning or innovation comes out of these meetings. Throw in a lot of alcohol and you’ve got a whole host of other problems."

Since nobody can prepare for the unexpected (just the way they can react to it), it isn't surprising that workers worry about other things.
"One could argue that today's employees are as equally stressed as their predecessors, but for different reasons," said Jodi Chavez, president of Atlanta-based Randstad Professionals, a segment of Randstad US, which provides finance, accounting, HR, sales, marketing, legal staffing and recruitment services. "They fear having their jobs outsourced to another country, have anxiety about how best to work alongside new technologies such as automation and robotics, have increased financial pressures with rising student loan debt and late retirement, and feel pressure to be 'on' and answering e-mails 24/7."

In difficult times, you need to find an internal reserve of energy and hope to help you make your way through. In other words, you need to tap into your resilience.
"Like so many other human traits, resilience can be woven into the fabric of one’s being (nature) and/or it can be learned (nurture)," career and business coach Marjie Terry said.
"One’s natural disposition may lead them to always look on the bright side or to look for the silver lining. For others, with an accumulation of life experience, they develop a resilience perspective and realize that, as the old saying goes, what doesn’t break you makes you stronger. They develop an ability to recognize that it’s important to keep going even when life hands you challenge after challenge—they develop perspective."
