A woman has become an internet sensation as a result of her passion for hygiene. But most recently, the diligent woman went viral for her unconventional and upbeat approach to cleaning a neglected grave, sparking online controversy and scrutiny.
Known by her 1 million TikTok followers as “_the-clean_girl,” the influencer left her viewers particularly unsettled by her unusual speaking style, reminiscent of the automated voice on TikTok, which was seemingly inappropriately upbeat for a video of this nature.
The video in question, which has amassed 19.2 million views since being uploaded last month, saw the Clean Girl say: “I’m at the graveyard at night, cleaning this abandoned grave for free.”

The woman showcased herself in the clip, which she captioned, “I cleaned an abandoned grave at night,” tending to a neglected and unkempt grave with diligence while maintaining a positive attitude throughout the process.
She said: “I have so many questions in my head. What’s happened? How did this grave get so dirty?
“Who’s buried here? Her name’s Bienvenida. Wow, her name is welcome in Español.”

The Clean Girl continued: “Right now, this is the dirtiest grave I’ve ever seen. That’s so unfair. Everyone deserves a beautiful resting place.”
She later added: “I wonder what Bienvenida’s life was like.”
The bubbly woman, dressed in a pink outfit, noted that the deceased person was an Aries before happily exclaiming, “My best friend is an Aries.”

In an unexpected and rather questionable turn, the Clean Girl asked, “Does she like chocolate cupcakes?” before filming herself taking a bite out of one that she had brought with her.
The woman’s nonchalant attitude regarding the very subject of her video prompted a lot of questions, including asking why she had brought a shovel with her to the cleaning.
“I don’t care about the shovel but to eat cupcakes so casually? did you wash your hands?” a person commented.

Another Tiktok user asked: “Why does she talk like that?”
An additional commentator penned: “There is absolutely nothing wrong with cleaning a neglected grave but the way she talks about this woman does not sit right with me at all.”
Despite graveyards becoming an integral part of the Clean Girl’s content on social media, the woman has also cleaned other questionable places.

Last month, the influencer filmed herself cleaning a McDonald’s restroom “for free.”
In the video, the Clean Girl exposed a less-than-pleasing toilet with ketchup (or so we hope) on the wall.
“I just want to make this toilet beautiful for everyone to enjoy,” the content creator explained as she scrubbed the public restroom to impeccable standards.
The Clean Girl’s grave cleaning video continued to fuel different reactions online
The article failed to mention that in addition to using harsh chemicals that could damage the monument, she actually PAINTED the grave! That is absolutely disrespectful to do to someone's final resting place to get clicks and views.
This is exactly it! The “article” (if we can really use that word) didn’t look at the biggest reason people have issues with this, which is of course using products that are actually harmful for the stones.
Load More Replies...What an idiot. Most cemeteries require permits to even do grave rubbings because you can damage the monuments, especially older ones.
AND she's using harsh chemicals and wire brushes on the stone. She's doing long term damage to gravestones all to make them look pretty for internet views.
Load More Replies...I don't have any issue with her cleaning things if thats what floats her boat. However, I do think she shouldn't be cleaning McDonalds and other fast food places. Those are private businesses not public spaces. If she really wanted to help people there are other places she could clean that would actually appreciate it. This is just attention seeking. Also, McDonalds should be ashamed if that was actually the state of the restrooms and it wasn't staged.
Idk on the restroom. When I worked at Arby's years ago it wasn't uncommon for the bathrooms to end up with c**p on the walls and toilet paper on the floors and everything after a lunch rush. It didn't take very long after being cleaned for it to get completely trashed. People (and their kids) can be gross. But I do agree, she shouldn't be sneaking into businesses and things for her videos.
Load More Replies...I don't mind her cleaning gravestones, but do it properly - water, soft bristle brush and no hard scrubbing. Also, get permission from the cemetery office to do this. They will also tell you what you can and cannot use to clean a stone.

Load More Replies...Why the f**k is she not wearing any mother f**ing GLOVES man??????????????????????
Same reason why YTers don't wear breathing protection while handling epoxy..? 😬🤷♂️
Load More Replies...She does it a night so she will not get caught cleaning/damaging graves. She reminds me of companies the have 20 million dollars ad campaigns to brag about a 1 million dollar donation.
1. She is damaging these headstones by using chemicals and wire brushes. 2. She should be asking for permission 3. Ummm, that doesn't exactly look like a very practical "grave cleaning outfit". What people do for clicks...
You don't know how hot it is where she is cleaning. Women are allowed to wear shorts and tank tops
Load More Replies...I've seen this video a few times. She even makes the shovel appear like it was moving on it's own. People in the comments were trying to look for apparitions, claiming they saw one. The grave is not very old. She did no research at all about the deceased person. She seems to have copied another grave cleaner I've seen, who does it much more respectfully and doesn't even show herself on camera, does the research and tells you about the deceased person's life, as much as she could find out. This girl...I don't know, she comes across more influencer than genuinely caring about cleaning graves. Also, how the heck is she in a shrubby area and not getting attacked by mosquitoes? I really hate her bathroom cleaning videos. No one was kicking her out nor was she going to get sued. She was just taking too long and not using the washroom for the customer's intended purpose, so that other people couldn't use it.
People sometimes clean neglected and abandoned graves. But this is attention seeking, she does it for views. She's using chemical cleaners that are not suited for cleaning old gravestones, it might do more damage than good. Not to mention painting it. If you actually want to clean graves, make sure you use suitable cleaners and stop talking about deceased people like that. We all know she don't give damn about baby David.
It's not exactly what she's doing, it's how she's doing it. Not only does she not have permission, she could be using harmful chemicals, she'd doing it for her own publicity. She's an "influencer" and she wants views and clicks. Sort of gross.
She's probably doing it at night because she couldn't get permission to do it during the day (or at all) and is just trying to be sneaky.
I have divided thoughts about this; all of the above, basically. But, if it encourages other people to clean up stuff (without recording their activities) then this would be a good thing.
Does she clean public bathrooms? That's very needed, most park bathrooms are disgusting. If she wants to clean and help so much (filmed or not) she can clean things that are used and needed by the homeless population.
So I appreciate a good moss covered grave. It's not always uncared for. It shows age and the passage of time. If somebody did this to my loved one I'd be neutral.
If someone did this to my family graves I would be pissed someone did something without permission!
Load More Replies...No problem at all with people cleaning things that need cleaning (I secretly clean public loos after using them sometimes as a nice surprise for the next person and I clear up litter and dog mess outside my house). Huge concerns about someone filming themselves doing it, adding random asides for laughs and publishing online for attention. Seriously, this would interest a psychiatrist.
My only thing here is about the recording good things u do. I don't think it in itself is a bad thing like many people say. Recording it for attention i think is a bit weird but hey ur doing a good thing. Doing it could inspire others or just let someone see something good in a sea of negativity. So yes. Feel free to broadcast the positive as well as the negative
That dirt was all incredibly loose and smeared. This woman staged this by first desecrating the grave, then cleaning it (referring to the grave shown in the pictures and described in the story, not the grave in the video) As for her voice, this is how most of us would sound on a radio spot without first being taught how to exaggerate our vocal infections. She just isn't trained in recorded voicework.
I’m going to take the completely opposite take than most: I love this. I don’t care if she did it for attention - she also brought attention to a person who used to be here just like all of us. I don’t really care if she uses the wrong product since it’s not like she’s going back and doing this regularly. I also don’t care that she didn’t ask the family or the cemetery for permission since obviously if they cared that much they’d be maintaining it themselves. For the length of a TikTok video, she brought this person back to life, and did a nice thing by giving some love to their permanent resting place. Some folks need to stop being so judgy and take a nice thing for what it is. She left it looking better than it was - better than it has probably been for a long time.
As of the comments I read she uses products bad for the environment/ stone graves? And then paints the grave? Don't know what paint, but sounds just like breaking social barriers doing this, and not I a good way?
