Parenting is a journey for the parents just as much as for their little ones, and Chris Grady is drawing and sharing his in a brilliant comic called Lunarbaboon. By focusing on a small family's adventures, the series spots and highlights humor in simple everyday situations. It also touches some sensitive and dark(er) subjects but does so in a way that feels sincere and, eventually, ends on a postive note.
"Lunarbaboon was created as a way for me to combat my anxiety and depression," Grady writes. The father of a 7-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter thinks it's impossible not to be influenced by everything around you. "There is a lot of bad things happening in the world, but there is also a lot of good," he told HuffPost. "I am very lucky to be married to a very smart, strong, opinionated person who is constantly fighting against injustice. A lot of what she and I talk about on a daily basis makes it into the comics."

Our education system is horrible. It discourages creating and discovery and being wrong. It beats creativity out of kids even though most subjects can be made super interesting if presented properly. I hated school but would go home and watch discovery channel all afternoon.

As long as the kids enjoys it, the dad (/ a parent) does too! Seeing your kids enjoying / having fun is the best there is! Next to snuggle-time!

I love to be an auntie!!! I can't have kids yet, being an aunt is the next best thing!
All I ever hear is how kids today just spend all day on phones, computers, etc, and how terrible it is so this is a great change for once!
I broke my kids of that in ONE try. "You gotta do better than that if you want to get to the olympics. You won't even get third place! OMG all the GERMS down there, it's gonna be a bath for sure." And I kept getting more ridiculous till the kid was laughing, and then I asked if they were ready to get up. No reward for bad behavior, just gentle mocking till their mood changed. My daughter uses the same technique on her daughter too!
Oh my gosh, I laughed sooooo hard at this! This artist and family is amazing!
Full Name, I think the Humor Monster needs to hunt your a*s down and tickle you to near death!

Great dadding. Mine only brought back snarling, disappointment and all kinds of other negative stuff. Meant that we loved him whenever he was out.
Fear of needing a carer keeps me fighting for my mobility. Use the fear
Let a moth out the window once and it flew straight into a spider web. The spider jumped right on it and spinning it into a coffin...circle of life is cool too.
when anxious go for a wee. WHEEEEEEEEE! (whilst swinging round a lamp post is best) All better now
And a wee. Always time for a wheeeeeee! Or skipping (might make you wee, though)
a friend thought I should help her when she started a fight. I did, I picked her up under my arm and walked off with her. She wasn't happy for some reason
blowing bubbles in your drinks through straws then making seal noises with the same straws works too. 4 decades of gloom and I am still here...winning
I got a whole trolley full of shopping onto a motorbike on a regular basis. With the occasional plant sticking out of the neck of my jacket. Always had an audience

Chocolate is great, but now diabetic. Diabetic chocolate is great, creating my own personal lava flow is not. Read Amazon review of "Sugar free Gummi Bears" Try not to cry

I was deliberately and maliciously cheerful on Mondays. Annoyed people, made me happy
Dog gets me up and out every day. Only a really mean cat could do that.
Reminded me of how much I have fun with my dad ! We sometimes forget the little things that form such a huge part of our lives.
I loved these! Just slightly sad because I don't have this experience with my father and though he is a good hearted man, he did not nurture us in this way and wasn't always around so I really can't relate to any of these
i love them! it's clear that he is fighting with his inner monsters and he is fighting good.
why does the teacher look like the old lady from Courage the Cowardly Dog?
The only thing my papa taught me is that how to annoy people with your witty and sarcastic jokes. I learned very well. Now, everybody both hates and loves me. Mission accomplished daddy :)
