The Internet Is Surprised How Long Owl Legs Actually Are

Celebrities are not the only victims of their revealing pictures being leaked on the Internet – someone has just shockingly exposed this poor owl‘s legs and the post went viral. People are surprised to see how long this bird’s legs actually are.

However, that’s just one of the things most folks are not aware of when it comes to types of owls. If the length of these beautiful birds’ legs freaked you out, what would you say about the fact that they can almost fully rotate their heads around (270 degrees to be exact)? A trick surely only possessed can do, right? Also, did you know their eyes are not true ‘eyeballs’ in the sense that they’re not round, but immobile tube-shape organs that provide binocular vision to focus on the prey fully? And – get ready for this – owls are sometimes known for ‘cannibalism,’ i.e., Great Horned Owls are the top predator of the smaller Barred Owl. And one more – owl feathers, due to their unique shape make absolutely no noise when flying, which makes these stunning birds the champions of stealth.

Yup, it’s tough out there for these birds, even with such impressive long legs, composing an eerily alien-looking owl skeleton.

What actually impresses me more are the length of the talons attached to those legs.

Considering that I've seen videos of owls hunting before, it does not surprise me. They "extend" their legs when they grab something.
