See many social media-users with the title “Visual storyteller” that’s nice but don’t forget reading some books and listen to verbal story’s too.

While visitors come to experience our work I ask them to touch and feel it next to the discovering with your eyes. This make the sculpture also interesting for children and people with visually impaired sight.

There is also much to tell about gathering the scrap parts and where they come from. Funny to explain the use of worn out titanium turbine blades of an F-16 Jetfighter in/at the wings of our insects or bird sculptures. Same for re-use of old high voltage insulators or damaged sewer pumps……….. so welcome too our next exhibition I’m ready to tell you the stories :-).

It could be said that Forge & Furnace Tumulus is essentially a personal hobby that has gotten out of hand. After more than 30 years of forging work, our activities have more recently expanded to include contemporary sculpture, bronze casting, and ceramic design. Our name, Forge & Furnace Tumulus, was inspired by the presence of six ancient Roman tumuli (tombs) within a 2-kilometer radius of our facility. If you examine some of the work from our smithy and foundry, you may recognize an appreciation for ancient history manifested in works that pay visual and symbolic homage to the record of human creativity.Owner/smith/designer Hans has always been fascinated by the creative possibilities offered by the ancient “four elements,” earth, water, air, and fire...the primal forces of nature that have always inspired awe and captivated the human spirit, from the dim ancient past up to our own modern times. Hans views these elements as an inspiration and driving force in his creations.Hans sees his 35-year journey in metalworking as a never-ending process of acquiring knowledge, developing skills, rediscovering and perpetuating traditional crafts, finding new avenues for creative expression, and serving as an educational resource for others. In daily life, Hans is an auditor and expert in quality and occupational safety management. In order to support a cherished hobby and to reduce the space-consuming buildup of our creations, we have decided to make some of the works of “F & F Tumulus” available for purchase or exhibition. If you are interested in buying or exhibiting our work, or if you would like assistance in realizing your own work, please do not hesitate to contact us.

My name is Violeta and I am an editor here at Bored Panda. I love reading memes for a living. It’s obviously much more than that, but I appreciate the variety of topics, information, and pics I get to see every day and share with the world! Those funny memes really make my day too. Being born in the ’90s in post-Soviet Lithuania speaks more about me than I’d like to admit. I’m still learning about the world and myself, but I do love my friends, traveling, art, and my cat. My favorite fact to share about myself is that I used to hide meatballs in my friend’s pockets at lunch so I could go play outside. I wish all those meatballs could find their way back to me someday.
