My name is Hafizan Halim. I’m 26 years old and have been creating traditional art since 2013. My studio is in Malaysia and I’ve been learning and perfecting my skills in traditional art in Istanbul, Turkey.

As an artist, I want to show people how patience is a beautiful thing—all my artwork require months of hard work, focus and patience.

I believe through art, people can learn how to respect differences, learn new cultures and be more open minded. When I share my art through Facebook and Instagram, it’s heartwarming to see people from around the world admire and respect a great part of my culture.

My life changed tremendously when I decided to make art as my career. Before even starting on a new art piece, I have to do heavy research in history, philosophy, and even language, depending on the style of painting I’m using. Each time I finish one artwork, it’s like I’ve explored a new part of the world.
