A rubber band is not the same as a hair tie, fyi :) those are two different things with very different uses! Hair ties/ponytail holders are NOT a substitute for rubber bands in most cases, and vice versa! If you’re a DIY handy person, learning the correct term for each will save you a lot of time and effort :)

Rubber bands are just made of rubber. Hairbands, like his one have either rubber or elastic that's been wrapped in fabric or satin thread to minimise the damage to the hair when you take them out.

Rubber bands are not the same thing. When I had long hair, I stopped using rubber bands bcos folk say that if used on your hair, they'll give you split ends. I got proper hair bands, which lasted years and don't snap back on your fingers.
