The Overwhelmed, The Skeptic & The Actionless

So you finally get your head straight, your game face on, your desire for success burn so hot you can spit fire and have a laser beam coming from your eye, but then you stop, you don’t know where to begin. You start exploring the web, ask Dr. Google, read articles here and there, ideas start popping in your head. I’m going to try keto and intermittent fasting, oh wait, I should count my calories too, then there is Mediterranean diet, weight watchers, Atkins diet, etc etc etc. Then you got overwhelmed by all those ideas, you end up doing none of them.

Or perhaps you are the type who says “ok, now what do I do?”, the skeptic one. Browse, browse, browse, find this and that and say. Ah calorie counting sucks, fasting sucks, keto sucks, that guy said its bad for your health, she said its a fad diet, he said no. Then you conclude that nothing works, then never take action, hoping that someday some perfect diet that suits you will come along and find you.

At least both examples above do their “research”, some people are just clueless about what to do. They don’t know, they don’t care what people say, they don’t want to hear any advice, they never try to find out what’s out there beyond their little mind.

Found Guilty?

We all have been there, I also have been one of them but the later one. Have you ever read something on the internet, a diet guide, an ebook in gardening, a marketing guide, or a photography tutorial or anything that touch your passion? Then you bought it, read the first chapter or finished it in one night but then never take action. I did that, I bought USD 2000 internet marketing guide, spent almost a year before I do anything about it. I read the thing, almost the whole thing but then got overwhelmed with how much I need to do, I procrastinated and do nothing.

But everything changed when I found a ted talk on how to achieve any goal that you have, by taking one small step at a time. Then I realized that this is the solution.

When you don’t know where to start, START FROM ONE.

Start from 1. If you are overwhelmed with ideas, pick one, leave the rest for later. If you don’t have any idea search for one, just one, no need to compare this and that, and if you are the last type do one, anything, that will get you started.

Because that’s how things in the world go, how the sun moves, how your heartbeat, blink, name one thing, it will start with one. There nothing that moves twice when there no 1 behind (well, this one sound philosophical. LOL). But that just how it is, no twins came out at the same time, no billionaire start making millions without making their first dollar.

So find one, pick one, do one and let the snowball rolling, then after that you can gain momentum. If the ketogenic diet is the first thing you find online, try to do that. Learn how to do it, what you need to have, what to eat, how to exercise when doing it, what is the effect or side effect, measure your before number so you compare it to your after number. Whatever it is, do it now. Take action. Take action now, not tomorrow, NOW.
