Night Photography In Amsterdam: I Have Found Some Of The Best Perspectives
In a world where almost everybody has a camera in their pocket, it is a big challenge to find new perspectives and to find new ways to amaze people. But if you look very carefully, there is still enough to discover.
My name is Renzo Gerritsen and I am a 22 year old photography student in Amsterdam. During my first year at school, I have made very big progress. As my ambitions start to grow, I see the possibilities that Amsterdam has to offer. I see opportunities that are not yet realized.
I have always been fascinated by night photography. I could dream away by looking at the skyline of Paris, Dubai or New York, but then I realized that I go to school in a city with the same beauty: Amsterdam. There are a lot of photographers who try night photography in Amsterdam, but they mostly shoot the same places like Dam Square, the canals or the Rijksmuseum over and over again. Why would you do that?! I started to look for different and unique vantage points. Fortunately, Amsterdam has a few buildings where you can photograph the city. Don’t ask me how I did it, but I just did! I photographed the skyline of Amsterdam like no one has ever done before.
