What was an international viral phenomenon in September, is now backed by almost 500 investors around the World that finance the project through Kickstarter.

Up to a few days ago, Niceballs was just a funny idea, a “hanging prosthetic accessory” capable of sticking to any work desk so that we can “play with our balls”. The “gadget” was designed to bring a bit of humour into workplace on the return to work after the holidays. The concept was such a hit that the video presentation got more than 700,000 visits, with over 45 million “likes” in Facebook. The media and bloggers exchanged views and talked about the product, calling it the “anti-stress phenomenon”.

When the idea first came about nobody ever thought that it would actually be marketed, the public was told that the product “was born sold out”. However, two months after going viral, everything is now ready to produce it en masse. Those in charge of the project have already acquired the right materials so that the feel of Niceballs meets the expectations of more than 10,000 clients who have made their online reservations for one.

“Giving excitement” in the strictest sense of the word

The Christmas season has significantly boosted the growth in support. Even though the product won’t be available until April 2017, many have already expressed their wishes to become “potential owners of a pair of Niceballs” on their Facebook wall. Under the slogan “All I want for Christmas is Niceballs”, they imply that they are backing the project in Kickstarter to their family and friends. To make the process easier, the website www.niceballs.com gives users the possibility to download a “voucher” that turns the recipient into a potential owner of a pair of Niceballs, which will definitely be the most talked-about gift at family gatherings on Christmas Eve and over Christmas.

“Everyone, men and women, we all need to play with our balls”

If the Niceballs project was designed to be enjoyed and to share a few unforgettable moments at work, it is quite normal that the media and bloggers value it for its anti-stress qualities and think that “workaholics” and those with a good sense of humour must be the first to enjoy a pair of Niceballs, on their own merit.

The international support from small investors

Almost 500 backers, the majority from the USA, and also from Germany, the UK, France and Canada, among others, have become promoters of the project, in its different formats: Original pack, Friends pack (3 units) or Fanatic pack (6 units).

This is the first experience in Kickstarter for the majority of the Niceballs sponsors

According to the report issued by Kickstarter; this is the very first time on this platform for more than 50% of the sponsors of Niceballs and their first experience of crowdfunding. For Kickstarter Niceballs is classified as being an especially appealing and mobilising project for new emerging markets.

The “snowball” effect

Since it began in September, not only has the number of Niceballs fans grown, so have its possibilities. Various testicular cancer prevention associations have already expressed their interest in working together to help publicise their cause. According to Antonio Piñero, the Director of Imaginarte, the communication agency in charge of Niceballs, “what has really multiplied is the team’s motivation and capacity, seeing as it has quite naturally taken on the challenge to tangibilize a product over the last few months, selecting co-workers from our surrounding environment. It would have been simpler to find it in China, but we wanted to protect the essence of the project, its driving force, and we thought it would be better to make it a Spanish product”.
