Woman Gives Up Teaching To Create Optical Illusions With Makeup, And It’s Messing With Our Minds (New Pics)
Bored Panda already wrote about this cool makeup artist (here and here), but she deserves all the attention because her optical illusion makeup looks keep on blowing people's minds.
Mimi Choi is a Vancouver-based professional makeup artist. She creates intricate, surreal, illusion makeup looks inspired by other people's art, surreal paintings from artists such as Salvador Dali and her own experiences during sleep paralysis that Mimi herself experiences from time to time. These vivid hallucinations fuel her imagination and add an additional layer to the creepy body art.
Take a look at her newest makeup ideas below and let us know if any of these optical illusions made chills run down your spine.

Look into my eyes, I mean mouths. You are getting sleepy, er ... hungry.
Umm, are the sunglasses real or fake? I'm confused.
Load More Replies...We all know that the eyes with the red pupils are the real ones...
The fingers. It’s the ones with the fingers that are the most settling.
She does an amazing job at blending her eyes into the rest of her face!!!! That is usually the giveaway in this type of art but on every one she does an incredible job at camouflaging her eyes
wasn't there a person that does makeup art thingys on the Ellen show?
Ive seen a lot of these. SHE is AMAZING!!! Add to ALL of it, what truly amazes me, is that she paints on HER OWN face!!! Painting on somebody elses would be INCREDIBLE!!!

3 pics in and I'm cussing her out... i appreciate her talent but this sets off way too many phobias for me.
She is so talented that its even scary! I follow her on instagram and am beyond amazed by every single work!
Okay, I'm impressed. I can't begin to imagine how it's done. My second thought is, how does she come up with these ideas? Does she have reoccurring nightmares about eyeballs?
I don't want to poop on anyones party but to give her full credits you should also mention she's really good at photoshop. Because she's removed all the natural shadows and highlights the shape of your face and all it facets give of in reallity to make the makeup illusion look better. Like removing the border between eyelids/creases and cheek. That would be visible no matter how much makeup you would use. You can also see the photoshopping very good in the Rubik cube picture. Look at her entire left and right index finger. It's really visible that she's cut that out. I think those hands werent even in the same picture. Also the hands look like they are light by the cameras flashlight which would make it iompossible to get the face in the hoodie so dark. This is 40% makeup 60% photoshop.
There still seem to be plenty of cops, teachers and nurses to go around. And I don't think there's any real threat of that ever changing. People with real talent (who can work in specialty careers)... are rare. Most people are very mundane and have almost no shot at becoming anything beyond that. That may be harsh, but it's true. If everyone was special, nothing would be special. So... you can breathe easy knowing you local convenience store clerk is not going to run off any time soon to become a ferret wrangler.
