I only have good things to say after having spent two weeks in West Ukraine. The people are warm and the country is beautiful – torn by a strange war in the east, I got to know what it means to love ones country so much that one is willing to fight for its freedom.
I spent the majority of my time in the old cultural gem Lviv. Very similar to parts of Paris, Prague and Vienna. The old town had kept its flair even during Soviet times.
Take a few steps out of the city and the influences of the Soviet infrastructure is visible.
The city is portrayed in Black and White – with an emphasis on composition and light. I was lucky to spend some time in the country side and photograph a more traditional Ukraine in color.
Enjoy the trip.
