theres a select group of people that have seen the post below that i doubt will ever see this one im writing out right now. this comment has haunted me for the past few years, and for nostalgia purposes i thought i would revisit my old bp account. as a twelve year old, this was my first introduction to social media. i was very young and impressionable, going based off my parents views. my parents do not support this behavior, nor are they catholic. at this point in my life, religion was something i was both passionate and uneducated about. i didnt know the difference between a christian (what my family follows) and a catholic. i had viewed some of the other commenters’ comments as disrespectful towards this religion, which i didnt even worship. i now understand the magnitude of the original post. young me decided that i was going to defend; not the actions taken by the church, but the religion which it was showcasing. i didnt word my comment properly. i still think it is important to respect other religions (coming from a now atheist,) and that was the point i was trying to get across. overall i disregarded the actions of the church and told people to shut up. i included this persons reply because it summarized what young me was failing to grasp the concept of. i was blindly following religion, and to see this other person speaking so harshly towards this church, which i was taught to be associated with good things, scared the shit out of me. the scare was an important part of my development. anyways idk what the take away of this was i just wanted to kinda like reflect or whatever. goodbye forever :p
