My Friends And I Spent Hours Exploring The Donner Tunnels And Snow Sheds, And All Concluded It Was An Incredible Experience
An abandoned rail bed is the trail, and the abandoned show sheds are the canvas for miles and miles of graffiti art (and sadly, graffiti vandalism too). While that's incentive enough to go there, the fantastic ice formations in winter and views of Donner Lake and the California Sierra (neither of which are included here, because I'm limited to forty photos) offer additional appeal.
If you go (and you know you want to), bring a flashlight for the darkest portions, and wear traction devices in winter (or galoshes in spring).
